Every band does that. That's why I really hate it when people praise a band endlessly. I don't usually buy albums. I listen to 2 or 3 songs from each band I like.

This song sounds decent but hey what do I know one dubstep track ruined everything thats right... All their great songs in the past is ruined because of one dubstep track.

Dub step is not music. Not really. My dog can produce such noise on a good day.

I would slap you in the face for your ignorance if you were in front of me.

I agree with Sa Seba. That was just awful. I mean who thinks that is music? The annoyance factor is like someone rubbing styrofoam together for an hour. I don't know who MUSE is, but that was freaking crap.

First, I was talking about the hole genre of dubstep, not just this.

Second, you should never call something "not music" because you don't like it. That is nothing but ignorance at it's finest. Music is an art, therefore it is subjective. The beauty is in the eyes(or in this case the ears) of the beholder.
To be honest I don't like this either and I don't even really like Muse(Origin of Simmetry was alright, I care not for anything else they've made), but one must understand that some people, for whatever reason, even if you or I don't see it/understand it, do.
So please don't spat these kinds of statements around, I know you're a smart person and these comments do you no justice.

After some reflection, I should have probably not called it "not music".
Anything can be an expression of emotions, a message to be spread or a
statement to be made and there will always be people who appreciate
them.
If you look at the harmony factor of a usual dub step track, it's not not there.
Anyway, I do like flowing, harmonic things most of the time and dub step just bothers me.
I am happy to learn though, so show me some dancable harmonic dub step and I am all ears.

I can't say you could dance to this stuff but...

Phaeleh

Burial

Mala (and others)

Heavy dubstep

It's started out as a genre to meditate or relax to. There's still a few artists out there who keep that vibe alive.

I can very much appreciate Phaeleh's mix and will research them further.
Thanks for showing me this! ;)

Korn did the same thing. Why wouldn't Muse do it? Either way, it's just a bad idea to add Dubstep to Rock music. Or any music...

What an appalling song. Absolutely no melody. This is akin to putting your index finger onto a piano key, and then running it up and down the board.

Nope. Couldn't sit through the whole video. And I liked Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations but The Resistance was boring except for Undisclosed Desires.

Agreed, Muse were ruined with The Resistance. Sad that they are continuing on their downward spiral.

Funnily enough, IMO both Muse and dubstep were already ruined about 3 years ago.

I don't blame them for experimenting as they have done with every album, and this track does still have a certain Muse sound to it, but it's not for me.
