 It works for me, just cause I can then get the guaranteed kill on shielded mooks.

You use the Acolyte when the target is within the radius of your AF Field.  That way, you strip and absorb shields, throw to detonate.  OHK Platinum Phantoms like that.

Ha! I've been trying to get my minions to play Mass Effect, but they are just another kind of audience. They prefer grinding WoW, Starcraft, and Fifa. Though I have several colleagues that do love Mass Effect, and it's always fun when we get together and discuss the trilogy with all its highs and lows. 

And I get your curiosity, so I am going to sum it up for you - Link was caught with a 6/6/6/6/6 build, and then everyone started questioning his achievements as a whole. In an attempt to recover his reputation, he posted a Warlord video which not only clearly showed that modifications to his game were made, but he also lied about minor things about it too (like the date when he did the video... he claimed it was filmed 3 weeks ago, but having the new Shadow Earth mastery banner clearly showed the video was more recent). As a whole (sadly his videos are not up) you could clearly see he was a great player, yet he felt the need to make himself look like an even better one, so he resorted to cheating. He was also possibly a compulsive liar.

Sadly, that whole ordeal with him sent BSN on an insane witch hunt, somehow rekindled the console/PC wars and generally made the place even more vicious than it already was.


P.S. Acolyte really changed the Fury for me. Since it's got a nice stagger, it makes closing the distance to targets more safe. Plus, there are a lot of enemies to drain shields from so stripping some shields with the Acolyte is not a big deal.

So, the source of damage doesn't matter for your shield to recharge?
Wow.. I thought only the biotic explosion caused by throw within the range of AF restored her shields.

Now I know, thanks! Sounds pretty lame. I want people to know I can ball, but cheating? Not worth it.

Why does a good player feel the need to cheat? I was a bit suspicious how his Fury never seemed to die in his solo platinum's. Maybe he was just very good, or maybe it was down to cheating? Fury has crap shields and a crap dodge and to go through a plat solo without losing a single life is either ingenious or dodgy.



Yes I die so frequently with Fury on plat, but darn it it's such a fantastical, fun, suicidal character to play.

Yes I die so frequently with Fury on plat, but darn it it's such a fantastical, fun, suicidal character to play.

Depending on how prone to derpness I am when I am playing her on Plat, I can either never die, or when I get in a bad series, I just die constantly. But there have been matches, where I felt basically immortal playing her so the survivability has never shocked me personally. The other stuff later though...

The 66666 situation focused attention on link's credibility ( but that kind of trick can be duplicated on console ), but when his one-hit-kill of phantoms was shown to be impossible ( with a legit system ) it showed how easy it was for a PC player to rig the game and pass it off as legit.

i hope bioware builds in some cheat protection into the next game so people can't hack the files.

The odd thing is that it doesn't appear he actually doble posted.  Signs point to a petty desire to stir the pot.

All the teapot ire in this thread reminds me of Sayre's Law, especially now that there is actually nothing to look forward to any more with respect to this wonderful corner of a great game & series.
