So I happened to see this video of some guys loading times
www.youtube.com/watch

After seeing that I thought to myself. Damn if that isn't fast. How come I don't remember seeing something like this? And the answer is, my ME is slow as a crawling turtle. Here's how long it takes me to do the same thing as he (go from "press any key" menu to game"
www.youtube.com/watch
ps. I also get similiar loadings in multiplayer when I go to store.:pinched:

My specs (atleast some of them):
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
GPU: Nvidia GTX560TI
RAM: 8gb
Internet bandwidth: 10mb/s

So my PC isn't completely ****ty (for comparison BF3 runs steady 55-60 fps on high/ultraB)) so is there any way to make these start-up loadings go faster or do I just need to steal computers from NASA and Pentagon or move next to a DSLAM for better bandwidth?

He didn't attempt to connect to the EA servers - notice the little computer screen didn't load, and the button said 'Connect to EA servers'.

He also loaded a single-player game.

I have the same problem. ME2 never had any kind of checks like this, I reckon it's something to do with the Origin client being a pile of crap.

ME2 only checked for DLC authorization once after DLC installation. ME3 was also supposed to work like this, but they screwed up and it checks for authorization every time. It doesn't do this if you're completely cut off from the internet.

In my opinion its worse than just that because
1. It checks every time you go back to the main menu whether from a game (ie. to switch from single to multiplayer) or a multiplayer disconnect, thus if its bad once it's worse multiple times.
AND 2. If it fails to verify DLC once (out of the 5+ per run, I have a poor internet connection/ their servers suck) then even though it goes through the rigmarole again and again it won't allow your dlc (even the free stuff) without you closing and reopening it

My pauses aren't nearly as long as yours, but it's still ridiculously slow to start up and to exit back to the main menu. The initial "Connecting to EA Servers" is slow, and the "Checking Downloadable Content" stage also takes a long time (with that pause in between its two appearances).

It's also especially attractive how sometimes the readiness console glitches between the two instances of the DLC authorization stage (the display will occasionally only slide out halfway or will disappear altogether after authorization is complete).

It's easily the worst startup experience of any game I can remember playing (definitely any game in recent years). (With all the DLC now, the logo movie has also started pausing for a second near the end, I assume as all the DLC archives are accessed.)

The more DLC that is released the longer it will take. Seriously bioware, any news on fixing this?
