Honestly, if you liked KotOR and KotOR 2, there's no reason you shouldn't at least pick up TOR once it goes F2P. The content is about x8 what you'd have gotten in KotOR 3.
I think people who skipped it simply because it wasn't a single player game were out of their mind.
I played TOR when it was in beta too, having next to no experience with MMOs and mainly wanting to experience the stories. My main issue was all of the MMO jank and roadblocks that made it seem like a really poor single player RPG. I might try it again when its Free to Play, but from what I've read, they're restricting even more behind a pay wall with microtransactions that make me think it'll be even more of a grind as a F2P game.

Me either, I'm sure TOR would be a fantastic game for MMO players, and people can say you can solo it the whole way through as much as they like, but I like my games to be finite and I can't stand the concept of paying for a game beyond purchase. DLC I can handle, but subscriptions I cannot.
The game is going free to play. For anyone that wants to experience some KOTOR like writing, I emphatically encourage everyone to play it. The storylines have definitive conclusions.
Unlike Dragon age 2? *Zing*!

That's about what I expect.
What I HOPE for:
As good as or better than DAO, answers or continuation to Warden/Morrigan/Flemeth.

Better than DA2, worse than DAO, still no answers to cliffhanger endings.

My expectations are quite low, it's been confirmed that two of my least favourite things from DA2 are returning - the cartoony art style and the ninja combat, so I'm not expecting much.
*facepalm*
Gutted! they're gonna release a pile of hash aren't they?

Given that information, EA/BW intention seems clear to me, they'll go where the people are.
As a PC player, it seems the world is getting grimmer by the weeks. I tried playing KoA and TW2 (nice story) but this button smashing gameplay is just not for me.
Dragon Age is probably one of the few last strategic game around, and has been largely “simplified” to embrace a larger console audience. That was even before the arrival of tablets.
PC gamers are now around 12%, and I don’t see the arrival of the tablet market players changing the “simplification”
trend really. It is also difficult to think that the 50M+ console owner will all change for the next thing as soon as it is available, so current design of game will stay the same for a while still and later get worse.
Dragon Age 3 will likely be my last CRPG if it goes further down the “simplification” trend.

I think that if the BSN doesn't hear something solid soon it is going to consume itself in a fit of emotionally constipated glory.
I just spat my drink on the keyboard. Oh... the mess... But worth it.

Look among indy games and among less known titles. Try Drakensang: The River of Time

Yeah, I think DA3 will be a bioware masterpiece from what I've heard so far.
And what exactly do you base that opinion on, since we've heard almost nothing conclusive?
Who is this 'we' you're referring to? What banner have we united under that you would claim such kinship? There is no 'we' here, there is only you and I.What dwells in the profundity of my psyche is significantly different than the cimmerian between your chasm.
To answer your question: I base my opinion on what I've heard so far, sorry if I was unclear about that.

Wrong? If you go into something expecting to hate it, you're going to get critical about every nook and crannie therefore bringing your prediction to fruition, that's just logic and fact. Also Your post doesn't specify that you're talking about yourself nor does my post specify that I'm talking soley about you.
Erm...no. Maybe it works that way for you, but just because you project your negativity and are incapable of judging a product obejctively, doesn't mean others do.
Also, I am critical about every nook and cranie in every game/movie/series, regardelss if I expect I'll hate it or not.
Hasn't stopped me from enjoying them.
Huh?

What we know.
It'll have a voiced actor; so guaranteed set protagonist again. - HATE IT
Same combat as DA2, with auto-attack - HATE IT
Multiplayer - MEH
Iconic looks for squadmates, er, companions that you can switch to different iconic looks. - HATE IT
Orleasians
Protagonist will be trying to end the Mage/Templar Conflict
Mage/Templer conflict
Doesn't look good from where I'm standing.
Agree. I hope we can at least pick from more than one voice or have a silent option. I so so hope, but i doubt we will. I dont know whats so wrong with silent anyway why, it helps with immersion and roleplaying. But i guess Bioware want to get rid of the RP in their games.

You'll probably be able to pick between a male voice or a female voice

Now Bioware marketing is terrible I wonder if they will try to copy Skyrim on the marketing front as well.
What's scary is that they are PURELY looking at sales figures - Skyrim, IMO, was boring as hell and not a patch as an overall experience on Morrowind.
They seem to be copying a franchize which is deserting it's roots and heading for a big fall similarly to how the Final Fantasy series is, and it shows by how many people have turned they're back on DA since DA:2.
I agree Bioware marketing team is awful in one interview the dude called Hawke Shepard lol and the Awesome button WOW.
Also yes while Skyrim was good but only for one playthough and only for a limited amount of time it got boring quickly. I never had that problem with DAO even to this day.

I'll be honest, I have extremely high hopes for DA3. I feel like more so than in the past, Bioware is really listening to fan feedback and implementing as many of those changes as they can. The longer development cycle is a good sign as well. I think it's going to be a fantastic game.

Basically a solid and entertaining game but not one worth it's initial 60 dollar asking price and a game I'll probably wait to drop down to 40 or so. I'd like to wait for it to be 30 I'm sure but my impatience will probably make me get it on its first 40 dollar price drop, though I don't think I'll have to wait too long. I think ME3 had it's first 40 dollar sale 3 weeks after release if I remember correctly.
That's my guesses so far. Of course they haven't really shown us anything, they might pleasantly surprise me. Who knows.
