How liara is written actually makes sense in all 3 games if your going for her as a LI from the start. Bit obsessive but there's people being like that in IRL as well, its not unusual per say.

The thing is she is written to be like that even when you do not have her as a LI which is kind of where things went south.

This is the problem confining Liara's character development to comics and DLC...not everyone will read/play them. For example, Liara is rather sceptical of the Lazarus project. She says it herself (at the end of Redemption, when Miranda tells her about Cerberus's true motives)..."I really think you should let the dead rest..."

And Liara isn't the only one who was looking for Shepard. She was just the one who was successful because she received an anonymous tip from cerberus. Yes, she could have just ignored the tip...but why should she? Shepard is her lover, her friend, and/or the person who saved her life on Therum. Her decisions in the comic were pragmatic, but the game summarized the entire arc of ME:Redemption as "I couldn't let you go" (which doesn't make much sense for some Shepards, I agree).

That was actually one aspect of her character I didn't like. In ME1, she didn't seem to have too much of an issue with her obsession. I also liked the idea of the asari in general being able to move on and be content with their memories and I wish Liara also had that personality trait. It would have been nice if there were dialogue options to confront her obsessiveness and to help curb it. Kind of like being able to help curb ashley's paranoia of aliens if you romanced her.

There was actually quite a few characters who fell into the hero worship trap, and I wasn't a big fan of that added trait to those characters. I've been toying with the idea of starting a trilogy playthrough as a Paul Atreides or Duncan Idaho type shepard because of that. Haven't really decided yet.

Yet as a final note, it still doesn't cease to amuse me how polorizing a character Liara is on BSN and how many threads devolve into Liara hate threads.

Hey don't knock her dad! She's awesome. Smartest asari in the damn series.

Liara wasn't that bad in ME1. She expressed a crush and if you said no got over it pretty quickly with no fuss. It wasn't til ME2 that she got creepy with that "I can't let you go" **** and having Shep's busted armor that he/she died in a damn case like a ****ing shrine.

Maybe I'll knock up her dad! Ey-oh!

Heh, yeah. Don't let the fact she's a matriarch turn you off. Imagine all the ways she's learned to...please after 1000 years.

I Do not own picture, kudos, compliments, and applause to LovelyMaiden. I believe this accurately portrays Jack.

How do you think Miranda would react to Shepard's death?

I think Miranda would hoard her grief as a private thing and throw herself into work.

Miranda would probably be wondering how much she would have made if she had just bought Shepard that life-insurance policy...Posted Image

She probably tried. Insurance companies don't cover pre-existing heart conditions, what do you think they'd do with someone who's already died?

For those who think she is too old, as a human, you will catch up to her age (and bypass it) before too long...

Miri doesn't get to attend the memorial service for Shepard. That's how much the Normandy crew care: first, we'll give up hope on Shepard ever being found alive even though we weren't there when the Crucible fired. Then we'll hold the memorial service before fixing the ship, so that his LI can't be invited on board for it because we all secretly hate her.

Thanks guys.

Oh the flame wars this could ignite, this could be epic.

Edit: I am ofcourse referring to the Fat Miri pick. I think someone asked earlier what would happen to Miri after Shepard died? Yeah, question answered

Well, considering the biotic gymnastics Shepard has her do on a daily basis, I think that stuff will lean out in no time.
Of course, it doesn't matter. Fatter Miranda just means there's more to love, am I right?

Wish these deviantart artists were actually good at art. Where's the renaissance-style chubby Miranda painting, eh? Back in the good old days, all the women were like this, but the artists had actual talent to push that forward to oil on canvas.

I don't understand. What is "overweight Miranda" trying to spoof or prove? I don't see the point.

I have no idea what's going on with that.

I only know that it is hilarious.
