I'm new to cosplay but I really love Dragon Age and was wondering if there are any Dragon Age-based cosplay groups on the east coast? That would be the best!

There was a sizable group of DA cosplayers at Dragon*Con this year. Decent showing in the parade (though not nearly as numerous as the Commander Shepards), decently large post-parade photo shoot (that included a visit from David Gaider and Chris Priestly), and a smaller photo shoot later in the evening.
