That's more or less what we got, except without the derpy goggles or the ..you know. Success over Shepard.

Leng is like alot of ME3 wasted oppurtunity... I feel BW played it safe in Me3 -save for the ending where they took a very big risk with a good idea behind it... they just executed and fumbled over somethnig thier trying to force into the narrative at the last minute

And simply gave Cerberus a face and decied eh TIM's enough of a character to carry cerberus.... and then TIM barely shows up ingame.

In the art, you tend to see Leng with the Color Blue and shepard the Color Red

and I get the feeling that's what they wanted... Two people that are EQUAL keyword there but opposite and could easily have flipped places. -Shepard got arrested for that stunt on Tofan comes to mind where they purposefully got thier squad killed cause they wanted to kill every batarian they could-

While TIM is more Shepard's foil, Leng could have been a whole lot more.

So... Kai Leng symbolizes ME3 as a whole... quite an astute observation.

+1, good sir.

It's kinda telling that the two considered best parts of ME3

are none of the bit ME3 introduced

Tunchanka and Rannoch have had buildup since Me1 and Me2 respectively

granted Rannoch is slowly losing it's luster with Legion's very drastict self in veiw on Reaper tech.

and yeah the fact that the big decision is basically everybody but Shepard being a moron.

Wow! never seen this design before, really does look cool and a lot better then the final Kai Leng, not to say I didn´t like the character, but  imo Mass Effect is a "somewhat realistic" fantasy world, and the ninja looks and sword.... the final kai leng looks a lot like one of those asian comic heroes, and fighting weapons with swords and imposible jumps on flying cars on the citadel just don´t make that much sense.

I think two characters that were a bit over "exagerated" are Kai Leng and Vega (which I like!) , with those over exagerated neck muscles Image IPB lool can´t hope to remind me of a certain mr. olympia LOL

It would be cool for him to have had his own squad, still not ninja style squad, a actual realistic squad.

What if Kai Leng had his own squad? He'd be even more the Team Rocket of Mass Effect.

The Deception Kai Leng we got in the game really was a lot like Team Rocket. Only that for some reason the writers felt the need to let him win in the most ridiculous manners all the time despite his overboarding incompetence.

Original Kai Leng with a squad might have been awesome... Image IPB

Having decent antagonists in  your story is a big plus, having interesting and challenging enemies in gameplay is even better. I would like to contribute to this thread by posting a handfull of suggestions i posted earlier in a topic about the enemy AI units in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3

Fixers0 wrote...

But then again what kind of conventional Military force (Like the Batarians or various Mercenary groups) would use such exotic troop varieties like Phantoms or guardians, probably none, you´ll probably end up with what we got allready: 1. Standard Rifleman 2. Special Weapon bearers 3. Officers and coordinators 4.Tech and Biotic Specialists.

The big problem with Mass Effect being that Shepard outclasses any standard rifleman by like 1 to 10 if not even more, if Bioware would have adjusted this for the third game with the ´´Rifleman class´ ´ being equal or somewhat weaker then shepard it would have made for a much more realistic combat experiance, take cerberus for example, why not have them wear the Cerberus Assault armor from Mass Effect 2, Male or Female, but in Black and Yellow Colours (Like Miranda´s AAP outfit) With their visor colours dependant on what class they are fullfilling (EG: Black= Rifleman, Yellow=Officer, Orange=Specialists).

This system also would function better with the Narative, Let´s take grissom academy for example, there are two Cerberus shuttles meaning there could only be a maximum of 24 Cerberus troopers, Shepard would then have to face 16 well trained Cerberus  commandoes, 6 powefull Cerberus specialists and 2 utterly dedicated Cerberus Officers, that would be a  hell of an experiance.

Different from the legion of phantoms and ground troops he lead against the Citadel?
Or his support team on Thessia?

well at least it would add something more to the game........... i mean kai leng by himself just seems like a very truamatised anime samurai with a futuristic twist.

maybe we could some how get a DLC out of it, say a sqaud of 4, each having their own level full missions for shep at the end of each mission fight the squad member for each level and beat them lol (boss fights) leading up to when you finally kick kai lengs ass? :)

Who cares. He was an awful character that looked stupid, sounded stupid and was written horribly. Gotta love deus ex machina space Sephiroth.

From the way he was portrayed in ME Retribution I don't really see Kai Leng working well with others. I disappointed in the way he is portrayed in ME3, I was hoping that he would be the Cerebus equivelant of Shepard, instead we got some weird Raiden/Nightwing hybrid who didn't really do anything and had zero character development in the game.

For the sake of argument however I do like the concept of Kai Leng having his own squad even though it would be out of character for him to have one. It puts Kai Leng and Cerebus on a equal ground with Shepard and his squad. I know ME3's a game and that I should not take it too seriously but there is something about Shepard and 2 squadmates going up against 1 normal human man that does not sit right with me, it does not make Kai Leng look strong, it does not however make Shepard and co look week. The squad against squad concept would have worked better in the final game.

having a real challenging enemy, instead of just one person
