I think this topic needs an update.

We finally have a location for the Mass Effect Cast Cosplay Initiative!

It will be at PAX East 2014 in Boston, MA!!!

There are no specific dates yet for the event, but it'll likely be March or April of next year. There is still plenty of time to spread the word and help making this project the best it can be.

I just realised that they still need more donations to make this thing happen. That worries me, since I'm really looking forward to this! Would be awesome if Bioware chipped in the last bit of money that might be needed towards the end; it would be small pickles for a big business, I'm sure, and the potential marketing bonus might make it worthwhile. But I'm probably just day-dreaming out of desperation here :-P
I'll have to see if I can afford to donate more towards the end of the year. But to the rest of you, throw them a fiver or something, it all helps! Just imagine how amazing this would be!

I don't know about everyone else but I think the MECC should announce when actors are no longer taking part

I only just found out a couple days ago, and wanted to wait until after the Insert Coin thing (one thing at a time, eh?) to announce it.  (I've also been INSANELY busy with work and a bunch of different appointments to go to for my son -- being a single parent is hard, yo!) We normally would announce that right away though. Apologies!

And THANK YOU to you guys keeping this thread going with updates!! It is helping us immensely!

Look, I really think you need to announce on your Facebook page that Steve Blum is no longer taking part. You said you'd wait until the Insert Coin thing was over and the winners were announced three days ago.

Some people may still think he's taking part and still be donating the the hopes of seeing him as Grunt and I think it's unfair for people to be donating under false pretences.

I've donated quite a bit of money to the initiative and this failure to make an annoucement is making me not want to donate any more.

lol what did you expect? it always comes down to money. no matter what industry it is, people will always try to scam others whenever and however they can. not surprised in the least.

Greetings and good luck with the project. Even with the drop-out I hope you get a majority.

I'm doing the best I can with updates - we've had the plague here at my house, my hours at work have increased, I'm dealing with a lot of medical stuff for both me and my kiddo (and I'm a single parent), and just have not had the chance yet. Anyone who asks, we have let them know accordingly, and it is posted up as a response on our main page and they've been removed from the website (both Courtenay and Steve, both of whom I spoke to about it a few weeks ago when I was in LA). They're both sad they can't come, and we all get along quite well. Everyone else is still on board as of this point. We have always said that participating talent may change at any moment. They're doing their best!

If anyone feels the need to stop donating because one or two people of ten dropped out, then that is their choice, but I would hope they continue for the event at large and for St. Jude. I'm just as disappointed, but we still have amazing people participating.
