I didn't see a thread with this problem. I get the following result choosing Express or Manual. When I get to the point where it show the folder to install to, and lists all HDs, the 'Next' button is grayed out and it states that I do not have enough permission to install the program. Not sure how this can be, I'm logged in as the administrator, how much more permision do I need?  Could it be my AV?Spyware/Malware checkers? Not sure how to proceed to fix this, not inclined to just start shutting everything down to see what works. Would appreciate any help and/or advice.

Quite anxious to begin playing.

Even as Administrator, sometimes programs need to be "Run as Administrator" to get them working.

Just go into the DVD and right click the setup program and select Run as Administrator."

1: Ew av

2: If you can right click it and select run as administrator that might help

also it could be a computer account glitch like with vista or windows 7 where you might try creating a new account with administrator priveleges restart and log onto the original and see if you can install it, if not try the new account

I've had to do that when i tried to install firefox and it said i didnt have the proper permissions to install it, like O.O hope that helps some

Should have mentioned, I have XP with SP3. There is only one profile, the admin, which is what windows loads.

For the record, the exact message I get is, "The current permission are insufficient to write to the selected install folder"

Figured out the problem. Program Files folder is Read Only, and the installer seemed to choke on that. Just installed to a different folder.

That's just a no-no in Windows...I'd fix that.
