It wasn't a glitch you could exploit like most. It was a mistake in the commendation packs where you could repeatedly redeem them, and I have read that they gave out 300,000 credits every time as well. I glad I didn't catch it, it would have been hard to pass up.

I once had all of the packs show up as FREE for a couple of seconds. Im not sure how that happend, but if it had stayed that way, I am confident I would have used the heck out of them.

I saw several users with N7 in his 30s with a Harrier and just thought he was really lucky

I might not be a "real" gamer, in the sense I imagine some folks on the BSN to be, but I have the PS3 to play games. Hardly used the blu-ray for movies. I started on pc (still have my Commodore 16 in the cupboard), through a variety of different platforms, went to xbox, and then ps3. I actually bought a xbox 360 just for ME2, I prefer the PS3 for a number of (selfish, personal) reasons, but do sometimes get annoyed with Sony for a lot of the reasons Upinya Slayin has said.

I got my PS3 originally for Final Fantasy LOL. You're right though, the people I play with do this more for fun. I've yet to run into "competitive" people in game. Only thing people are competitive about in ME3 PS3 is the Leaderboards ... <_<. I play games often enough (more than "occasionally") so I guess I border on being  "real gamer"; but my game of choice category is RPG. Only exception's I made are for Starhawk and Warhawk because my cousin's husband is playing it.

Well I can't speak for the entire PS3 community, but my select group of friends and I do not get involved in BSN because BSN mostly attracts trolls. I guess that's why most 360ers feel right at home. None of us have Happaugue HDPVRs, because guess what? None of us are 15 year old wannabe youtube stars. We play games to have some fun, not to impress a bunch of mouth breathers on the internet. So no, we're not going to record our gameplays and show off our l337 co-op third person shooter skills. Nor are we going to create circlejerk threads about how fast we can GI our way to victory.

It's just this game, which has always been mostly an Xbox franchise. On the other hand, all the hardcore speedrun and challenge videos for FFXIII or FFXIII-2 are done on PS3 even though the games are out on the 360. With a series like Assassin's Creed (Brotherhood and Revelations for multiplayer), the videos and high-level players are split pretty evenly over the three platforms.

Indeed. I had an Xbox 360 before I had my Ps3, and I appreciate it that much more because of it. I don't care about cross-game chat, since if we're not on the same game we probably don't have much in-common anyhow.

Not offended, but confused. Husband and I have both been gamers since Atari 2600 --> Intellivision --> SNES & Sega Genesis --> PS1 --> PS2 --> PS3. Yup, we're totally not real gamers. We just wanted that shiny Blue Ray. LOL

Honestly, I cannot name one person on my friends list that didn't get their PS3 primarily to game. Lord, why would you buy a PS3 when a Blu Ray player by itself is surely less expensive? I suspect that PS3 is the smallest community because the beast is ex-frickin-pensive. It was $600 flippin' dollars when I got my husband his for a birthday present back when they first dropped. He paid $400 for mine a year or so later for my birthday. And even today it's still too dang high, IMO. I'd love to upgrade my Dad from the PS2 he still rocks, because I know he'd eat up ME2 & 3 (big sci-fi fan... I got it from him, frankly), but by the time I'd drop the cash on a PS3, both games, DLC, HDMI cables, etc... I'd blow over half our grocery budget for the month. Just can't swing it these days.

I think you don't see any "elites" here from PS3 because of the numbers. XBox community is HUGE. Yeah, with that kind of base, you're gonna have individuals who eat-breathe-live this and record all their games, speed run YouTube sessions, BSN "celebrity" status, etc. PC gamers are next biggest, so they'd have a share, too. PS3 being the smallest... and knowing that the number of gamers who even go to a message board are an even SMALLER number of the overall gamer population for any platform... and PS3 had the least chance of representation.

Think of it like this: are you gonna see more marathon runners coming out of New York City, New York or Starke, Florida? Obvious answer is NYC because their population is much higher than little 'ol Starke, so they would have a higher chance of containing marathon runners... and a higher number of said marathon runners at that. It's all numbers.

ROFL im not a real gamer whatever dude/girl. if im not a real gamer then real gamers most be fat people that live in there moms basement and play 24/7. i play games 5-8 hours a day hows is that not a real gamer. PS3 dont have thoses hackers ether like PC and dont have to pay to go online like Xbox. plus hyperdimension neptunia is only for PS3.
which is my favorite game series ever. i paid $170 for the japanese limited edition for the 3rd one it to have it 6 mouths before US. if thats not a real gamer. then you must have to live in your parents basement to be one.

I think PS3 people skew older too. 
I would love to have an Xbox too, but i cant bring myself to buy it when I already have a ps3.

So you speak of trolls and then get all butthurt and defensive off of one comment? Grow up a little. I didn't attack anyone or talk down. Yes the forum is full of trolls, and having a recorder is nothing to do with being 15. I'm almost twice that age and the vids most of us make are to show off builds, strategy, and for the speedrun tournement which is a FRIENDLY competition amonsgt adults/online friends. 

So basically, stop being a troll and grow up, you speak of people recording gameplay as being a kid but you post an animated gif with a butthurt repsonse becuase i said that the PS3 doens't have elite players posting on the forums. If you were an adult you wouldn't care about a comment tike that. You're basically saying that you hate all 360 players becuase we are trolls, yet we are the one's who give the most help/advice on the forums. Like i said Most, not all.
And also when they 1st came out they were only like 100 bucks more then a blu ray player. sure blu ray players are cheap now, but back when the PS3 1st came out it wasn't much more expensive then a stand alone blu ray player. My brother has 3 PS3's and he is not a gamer at all, same with my uncle who has 2 and mostly his kids play it online who are 8 and 13 and aren't serious gamers but play COD and such online while never reviving people lol. another one of my friends got one via a trade of his wii and uses it for movies and music more then games.

I guess everyone i know that has one isn't a real gamer and most of them say they got it for the blu ray. then you look at online communites and never see elite PS3 players on any game, it just kinda all fits.

Onc again its not directed at eveyrone, i'm sure there are serious gamers on PS3. I just think the majority of them are casual players more then anyhting

wow you guys get butthurt and defensive. I said most not all. Thats 2 people who said they are real gamers out of what 100k online ME3 players for PS3? way less then 1% lol I'm not saying you aren't a real gamer, just that a majority of PS3 players got it for the blu ray and will play a game here and there. no I don't think you have to live in your parents basement or even be a certain skill level. But if you play games like 2 hours a week but watch 20 blu rays a week your not a gamer lol. IN your case if your playing 5-8 hours a day then yes i'd consider you a gamer. Why do people not understand the difference betwen "all" and "most"

You could make a comment that "most" good NFL QBs are white. Why becuase its true. But it doens't mean that Cam, RG3, Vick Etc aren't good QB. It just means that the other 20 or so are white. I hate to use somehting like this as an example, but sports is kinda my go to example.

If i said ALL PS3 players aren't then I could understand people getting upset, but like i said MOST of them aren't not all

speed run scores are meaningless. whoever gets to rocket the most spawns wins.
