If I were to be honest? No. MP DLCs have definitely extended the longevity of MP, unquestionably so.

No. This also keeps me coming back. I definitely notice a spike in my online MP playtime during Operation Weekends.

9. Do you do any roleplaying in your mind when playing ME3 multiplayer?
Yes, but after a while playing the same map, not as much. Recycled content tends to get recycled RP. Fresh and new content gets fresh and new RP. This is why MMOs, with weekly repetition raids, are often viewed entirely OOC after the first time.

10. If you had to choose, would you rather play in a good team:
a) 5 easy waves and get 99.000 creds (I'd love memorable gameplay, but with the store system as it is, easy credits is the honest answer. And let's be honest, 50% or more of the playerbase can't handle memorable gameplay, e.g., gold and platinum. Making that the standard would cause nothing but pain.)

(Actually, I wouldn't, but as soon as you said Kishok and Acolyte, I voted the other choice. I hate the Kishok and Acolyte with a passion. If that's your standard, do not want. Weapons must serve a purpose, be clear winners. What is the point of ultra-rares and their near unavailability otherwise?)

13. If you had to kick one player on gold difficulty after a match you won, who would it be:
a) New player, with N7 of 19 who really tried his/hers best but got pretty much carried trough the match
(Nothing against the new player, but they don't belong in a gold match. This isn't to say I suffer skilled prats either though, but one of these two simply does not belong, the other can be muted.)

14. Do you like to finish the extraction wave or just get it over with?
I'm goal-oriented so I tend to go for the objective, that is to reach the extraction point and survive. Finishing a wave is of no consequence to me.

Tough question, I played many single player games a long time ago, but also spent a lot of time playing MMORPGs later on (especially when my computer was too slow for the newest games, and that took quite a while). To be honest, either MMORPG-esque games or single player ones, if that helps you out.

Not really, no. It makes sense in a way, but on the long run, it gets tedious.
So no.
(I especially hate how there is no way of trading. I don't need 4 Krogan Vanguards, and my friend has none. Sheesh.)

Unlikely, I had all rares maxed out a while ago. The new characters make it more interesting, as it would fall flat really fast.
Even so, the game kinda needs new game modes and maybe a new enemy faction, but especially the game mode.

Maybe.

9. Do you do any roleplaying in your mind when playing ME3 multiplayer?
No, I'm just shooting and charging and slashing stuff and now that I have my Fury I teleport everywhere because it's awesome.
There is no time for roleplaying, especially considering how jonky the voice chat is. No noise filtering, no volume normalization - it's crap, it's kinda hard to roleplay with others like that. And alone, that would just mean I'm insane, which I am not.

10. If you had to choose, would you rather play in a good team:
 11 memorable (in agood way) waves and get 45.000 creds

(but to be honest, with the right team, you should be able to get all the creds as you would not fail.)

Fair game

A little. Me and my brother will make the characters talk. There's a Salarian Infiltrator whose catchphrase is "shiiiiiiiiiiit...!" I also like playing when drunk, because it means the characters are all drunk by proxy. I do think about these things, I like to think what happens to the characters when they don't make the shuttle, and I cut the Batarians a hell of a lot more slack in single player because I love my multiplayer batarians. But it's not like I sit there inventing backstories, or motives, or wondering how the characters feel. "Role playing's" a bit too strong, but I like its setting within the Mass Effect universe.

- But a fun game IS a fair game, and a challenging game. Buffs (and nerfs!) make it more fun, and Silver's more fun than Bronze, with Gold more thrilling than either.

Eh... It varies. Typically multiplayer, but that was before I discovered Mass Effect - I hadn't really played RPGs before, so my idea of what constituted 'single-player' was a several hour long campaign before I'd switch over to the MP component. Having said that, I don't think I've ever been so engrossed in .. well, anything as much as the Mass Effect saga. Gonna sound like an ubernerd here, but it's really been more than just a game series to me. Consider it an inspiration, if you will.

Not trying to be rude or anything because this thread is actually pretty neat and surveys are always fun, but did you okay doing your thesis on this with your Professor? I'm only asking because I have a Bachelor's in Psych and this kind of thing probably would have never flown, at least not the "Competitive Multiplayer Gaming" aspect of it, with my Professor. (She was kind of a hardass). How people interact online though, especially with the anonymity factor, is a fairly interesting subject.

Also, it might be better to receive people's answers through private messages rather than on a public forum. The answer's from one subject are easily viewable and could taint another subject's results.

I usually play singleplayer, then if the game has it, I move to multiplayer after finishing whatever singleplayer there is to be finished.

9. Do you do any roleplaying in your mind when playing ME3 multiplayer?
Yes. "What would Shepard do?" is the first question that should come to anyone's mind in any situation.


10. If you had to choose, would you rather play in a good team:
 11 memorable (in a good way) waves and get 45.000 creds


11. Which of these is the most important to you?
c) Fun game


12. Would you rather have as a new weapon:
 One ultra rare that has different kind of function, but not standing out as "the weapon of choice" (functions for example like acolyte or kischook)


13. If you had to kick one player on gold difficulty after a match you won, who would it be:
Veteran player, with N7 of over 9000 with bad attitude against others and bragging about his/hers skills trough the game, but pretty much carried all of you


14. Do you like to finish the extraction wave or just get it over with?
Winning is part of the fun. Victory at any cost, said Tarquin Victus. Even if only one man gets extracted at the end of all things, it's considered a victory.

Because i do not trust the connection i would rather end it. BUT i will still try just no consumables after 10.
