Just downloaded a bunch of files for ME2 but have yet to start a game. (Genesis, Normandy , etc)

Went to ME2 folder/BIO - to look for DLC content per reading these forums.

The BIO folder does nto have anything in it. Will these downloads go into effect once I actually play the game. Is there a way I can check once I start that they are installed form the beginning.

If I go to registered game content on the forums here - all those downloads ar elisted ....but to the right it still says Download (which have done) as opposed to PC/MAC- ideas?

You've downloaded them but to where and on what platform? Assuming you're on PC you should see them wherever Windows normally puts downloaded files from the internet, which in default Vista/Win7 installs will be C:/Users/[your user name]/Downloads. Every DLC pack comes in the form of a .exe file, which you need to run to install the DLC. Having installed it the game will need to connect to BioWare over the internet the first time (also after any time you reinstall any DLC) to assure itself that it's all legit. The registered game content page here will continue to say 'Download' in linky orange after you've downloaded and even after you've installed the DLC in case you need to redownload them in the future.
