I'd so love to open a PSP and finally get that Kroguard. But that's the trade-off of making a deal with the RNG Devil... They don't throw the Eagle at me and I don't get the character I desire most. Never make deals with the devil, people.

Thank you very much, JShepppp, for this incredibly detailed and helpful guide.

Although I have been playing ME3 MP every day since April and made my "Unwavering" with an Asari Vanguard during Operation "Exorcist", almost 20 Weeks ago and successful made every squad-goal, I've never tried to solo even silver.
Although I respect my Kroguard several times just to use my "Strength Enhancers", I've never had fun with the Battlemaster.

This changed completely with your guide.

From the first (silver) match I had so much fun charging and meleeing everything. After half a day practicing, I decided to start a silver solo (FB Glacier, Geth) - and made it without using a single consumable. Incredible easy.

The very next game was a gold solo (again FB Glacier, Geth). My first one ever - and I succeeded. I had pizza/4 devices/hacking and only had to use a few consumables during the 4-devices objective round 6.

I spect my Kroguard exactly as you did, only difference was the Piranha X instead of the Katana.

Nevertheless, I changed the playing style, because I didn't shoot more than 1 mag in the entire (gold) game.
As soon as Primes spawned, I targeted them:

bc/heavy melee/head-butt/head-butt
bc/heavy melee/head-butt/head-butt
bc/heavy melee/head-butt/head-butt
...

next Prime

that was it. All the rest of the mob died without targeting only because of the area-charge.

I've not had to use cover one single time and charged the Primes no matter where they were.

Again - thank you very much, this was awesome.

Your comment/story just made my day. Great to know that this helped.

I just finished a Reaper solo with this build and will be uploading it by the end of this week. Reapers were harder than the Geth, but still doable. You may find that interesting too.

I tried soloing Gold on Saturday and failed miserably on wave 9 (Geth/Giant) :(
I had to use 2 medgels because of the infamous "Biotic Charge not triggering" bug (cooldwon was OK, I needed to charge, pressed the right button... but nothing happened :( ).
Anyway, soloing Gold takes sooooooooooo long (37 minutes when I died on wave 9) compared to Silver (~20-22 minutes depending on the map). Mobs keep on respawning again and again.

It will take long but that's just the nature of soloing.

As for BC not triggering, it happens to me a few times too. I just keep mashing the button. My keyboard driver is a bit weird and sometiems I have to melee or take cover, and then the charge button will work. Or I have to charge a different enemy. BC not working happened a few times in my geth solo video.

It's rare but it's just unlucky. I'm sorry.

Also, I know I keep saying I'm going to get this damn Reaper video up, and I will, but like my connection is so slow that it's taking FOREVER to upload. It's over halfway done now though.

Finally uploaded the Reaper solo video. Just in case there were doubts - the Geth are definitely easier, but REapers are possible to beat with this build.

Don't apologize, not your fault  I think I haven't used enough missiles in the later waves, I probably should have used 1 in wave 8 at a spawn point to spare me some time + medgels. Alos, I could have used some Cyclonic Mod but tried not to ; I'll do it next time.
Not sure what is causing the BC not triggering, though. Most of the time, I have to change my point of view by moving sideways or running or evern switching to another target. But yeah, that's pretty annoying.
About the long time, it's also probably because I was on Giant and kited a lot.

Question: I heard somewhere that rage for the kroguard was bugged, has it been fixed?

Nope. What is bugged is the Rage bonuses when your Krogan enters the Rage state. The colors will change and things will be blurry but that's all : no damage reduction bonus, no melee damage bonus. However, the passive things like Durability or Martial Artist are fine and do work.

Very good guide and good reading.

Two minor points:
a) Shield gate does apply to shotguns. It's one pellet that strikes the gate and the rest are cool to hit health. So always try to get most of that scatter pattern on the target.

B) Staggers are also dependent from the force of powers. Every enemy has a force threshold. Once the power exceeds this, the enemy is staggered. There are also threshold to determine whether they entirely to decide to take off and try to make a suborbital. So if you like to see things flying - max the force of your powers. This is particularly interesting with biotic charge. I don't have the numbers but if you spec accordingly you can end up in front of unstaggered Phantoms, which is usually a bad thing.
Another thing: BC is a detonator power. Vanguards can be great with biotic support!!! Like really great.

kroguard doesnt need a gold guide, it needs a plat guide, even a monkey jumping on a keyboard can play gold with a kroguard.

i might have missed it, but did you include the information that you cant be instagibbed while on stairs and ramps?

If we need a Platinum guide, why dont you write one, if Gold is so obviously too easy for you to worry about?:?:?

OP, very good job on the guide, there's something there for almost everyone.

It's in the first section, in the very definition of "synchkill". And in the Reapers section, he says again that Banshees can't sync kill on slopes.

Yeah that bug is very annoying, I think that when Kroguards mostly die it's because of that. Sometimes the ops packs also don't trigger on time. It might be a connection thing or a glitch or whatever, not too sure, but it's just bad luck. And yeah Gold solos will usually take time, and it's better to be on the safe side and kite if you're not sure that you can handle the waves (e.g. I kept kiting Banshees in my solo Reapers vid in later waves repeatedly).

As for using mods/equipment/consumables, they'll definitely help - I didn't use any because I wanted to prove a point (that it could be done without those) but normally I'd put them on. Cyclonic Mods in particular are SUPER helpful; I think the statistic for the Cyclonic Mod III is like 50% or something extra shields (not too sure but yeah). I've used it a few times and it makes a HUGE noticeable difference. And of course adding in stuff like incendiary ammo for the fire explosions and the melee boosters will only help more. I still believe that missiles should be saved if possible for Wave 10 just because sh*t really hits the fan then, but that's completely up to you. The worst thing is to get to Wave 10 and have the assassination objective and not have missiles.

The Reaper solo video is now up, but it's only in 480p. Youtube is taking forever to render it in full 720p (it IS in 720p, just for the record). Description and everything has been updated too. I don't know why it's taking forever to render it.

Thanks. The info about the force of powers is new - I did not know that. That does make more sense; my very first (months ago) Kroguard build had me max out BC's force/charge versus the area charge, and Phantoms literally went flying off the map with it. It also makes that force statistic seem useful now (always seemed kind of random before). As for the Kroguard specifically, at least with this build, you still stagger phantoms. I believe Kroguards stagger phantoms by default (without any additional passive upgrades, like in the Battlemaster tree), but I'm not too sure.

And yeah, vanguards and adepts/sentinels are super tight.

Quick guide.

Charge and eat the fools. When Banshees, phantoms, or brutes are on the menu, dine on ramps or stairs.

Aye, helped loads, still not able to solo in Gold, but getting there. Just need to tweak my build first (even with a low-weight Shotgun, only at 170%, so sometimes the Biotic Charge refresh doesn't come fast enough).
But all in all, awesome pointers. I was able to solo bronze NP and silver with some difficulty. With your pointers, silver is no problem and I am slowly getting the hang of gold... Just need to be less greedy when I charge. :)

Anyway, was a great read and I enjoyed the video (and the music on it!)

Nice guide. Good tips there, but it needs to be updated because of the patch.
