 people always seem to go on about how the Catalyst is useing broken Logic, which he isn't.


What is something Reapers have told us since day one? That we can not understand their existence. So the Catalysts logic is perfectly sound, we just can't understand it so it seems broken.


if a Theoretical Physicist goes up to a 12 year old kid and starts describeing the Theory of relativity, of course the kid won't understand it, but that does not mean the logic behind the theory is broken.


So Catalysts Logic is not broken, its just what they have always said, us Organics are incapable of understanding it.

I never said he was.

the Reapers have always said we can not understand their existence, which we can't, this is why people don't understand the Catalysts logic, and call it broken, when in fact it is simply to complicated for an organic mind to process properly

In fact, if we follow the Catalyst's logic all the way, the Reapers will eventually rebel against him. Maybe one or more of them are already on the rebellion slope. If the Reapers' actions alienate the whole galactic forces against them in this cycle, some Reapers could very well feel that the Catalyst is throwing them to their probable death in this very cycle or any future cycle. That is not a safe way to preserve "advanced species".

This line of reasoning always confuses me. You realize this is all fictional, that eal people, like us, actually made this, right? 

Unless you're implying BioWare are actually a conglomerate of super-intelligent machines.

Its not so much his logic that bothers me. He clearly is just an AI stuck in a solution and unable to breach his programming.

Its the fact that we know its rubbish, the games prove that his 'solution' is flawed and doesn't have to be enacted, and we are still pretty much forced to agree with him and do what he says. The game gives us ample examples to refuse him, tell him that he's wrong and blow him to hell and yet we still have to agree with him.
