Mario RPG games are awesome.

And FFVI being on a top whatever RPG list is fine and all but #1? It's not even the best Final Fantasy game, that title goes to FFIX.

It's not as bad a list as I'd feared. They included all 3 of my 3 favourite Ultima games, they correctly ranked ME ahead of ME2, they acknowledged the greatness that was Wizardry 8, and they put System Shock 2 near the top of the list.

The list is way heavy on console titles and JRPGs, I think, but that was inevitable.

And I still think Bard's Tale II was better than Bard's Tale, but that's a fairly uncommon opinion.

Who am I? I'm nobody - just like you. People don't care what you and I think the top 100 RPGs are - but as demonstrated by this thread, people do care which ones IGN thinks are.

Okay? I'm just kinda surprised you quoted me out of a wealth of people who think this list is ScheiSe and IGN is not to be taken seriously.

I didn't think my comment about IGN was that insulting, all things considered.
