"What do the words mean?"

"Nothing. The Dirge of Eir Glanfath is sound without form, a lone voice crying out in mourning because it must."

It's obviously a hook for an upcoming Obsidian title, but what?

Wheel of Time? (The Aes Sedai symbol is an Ouroboros IIRC)

Original IP? What can change the nature of the words? =o

Dungeon Siege 4?

Fallout 4: New Gaelic?

Post your thoughts so we can have LOTS OF SPECULATIONS

"Fallout 4: New Gaelic" If only Crust.

The Wheel of Time rpg from Obsidian has been cancelled no? I know it's been delayed for like ever.

No idea, although Dungeon Siege 4 is what occurred to me at first. It's Obsidian though, so I'm automatically interested.

Too much to hope it's Alpha Protocol 2, I suppose? ;)

That does look like the Aes Sedai symbol from The Wheel of Time. I would probably faint if they did make that into a game :P

Most sites seem to point at Dungeon Siege 4. I am inclined to agree.

Going from the art style and the quotations, I'd say either Dungeon Siege 4, or a new IP altogether. Heck, it could be AP2, if it involved some sort of strange sect or secret society i.e. Illuminati or the like.

Wheel of time sounds nice and it really looks like Aes Sedai's ring;

http://www.polyvore....=l&tid=64498697

But what about "4"

And i dont really think there are dragons in Fallout setting. (now maybe some mutated overgrown gecko!)
And Obsidian didnt get many positive reactions from what they did to Dungeon Siege so i think we can eliminate DS4 too. But he Dirge of Eir Glanfat sounds like DS3ish.

Edit: Maybe its a "Fantastic Four" game?

I wish it was something WoT related but the 4 makes me doubt it. Unless they're suggesting that it takes place in the fourth age...
I'm interested in any case.

Well it's Obsidian and I'm interested, but I hope it's not Dungeon Siege 4: I'd love to see an original IP from them or at least a continuation of a series with more substance than Dungeon Siege.

Don't think the number is related much to the title (if at all), Chris Avellone posted that something will be unveiled in 4 days. So it's likely just a countdown.

Don't think it'll be Dungeon Siege 4 or Wheel of Time (there is zero reason to believe that they're still involved in this, especially after the recent failed kickstarter from that other company).

4 days until Black Mesa comes out, turns out they're big fans.

Guys, the Ouroboros is a pre-existing public domain symbol that Robert Jordan appropriated for use in his own fictional work. "Looking like" an Ouroboros would be because it's an Ouroboros.

This analysis seems sound to me:

"A quick search reveals that there is no such place or person as Eír Glanfath, real or fictional. However, “Glanfath” bears a striking resemblance to a form of the Irish verb glan, “glanfaidh,” which means to clean or to clear. Similarly, Eír is similar to Éire, the native Gaelic name of Ireland. And a dirge is traditionally a song for the dead."

I'm thinkin', zombies and Gauls.

My first thought was Jörmungandr, a.k.a. the Midgard Serpent, from Norse myth.

I hope it's not though. Too many viking games already.

Zombie Gauls would be good.

Art. A sound without from, a games developers lone voice crying out in mourning because it must.
