He was destroyed and he lost the war, but he accomplished his goal of seeing an orderly and forward-moving civilization, unfettered by the tradition-bound elves or the sequestered dwarves.
I'd say Sauron won, in more ways than one.

Those teasers are in a world of their own. I'm thinking a new IP, or a different franchise.

RELEASE THE BUGS!!!
Because that's what all Obsidian games have right?
I bet it's going to be an awesome setting with some unique gameplay features but due to the countless bugs and glitches, I'll be avoiding it like the plague.

Two centuries ago, your divine champion told the people of Dyrwood to grovel at his feet. If you've come on pilgrimage to the blasted crater that was our reply, Godhammer Citadel is *that* way.

I've found their games no more or less buggy than any other RPG (Dragon Age II on release and Skyrim come to mind). That they get singled out specifically when others aren't is unfortunate.

Kotor 2, Mask of the Betrayer, Fallout: New Vegas. All from the folks who brought us Fallout 1/2 and Planescape Torment. I would have missed out on some of the greatest games ever made, and some of the greatest stories ever written if I took that attitude.
I prefer not to judge Obsidian based on Alpha Protocol and Dungeon Siege III. They're a small independent developer at the mercy of an unforgiving industry. They have to do what they have to do, and if that means developing occasional flops for Segas and Square-Enix's, so be it. (I used to feel 100% the same way about pre-EA BioWare)

Is it sad that I'd rather fund a kickstarter from Obsidian then buy a complete BioWare game?

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I have a feeling it's a planescape torment spiritual successor.
This would be pretty sweet.

You know, there was this interview not too long ago...
Whatever it is, I'm fairly excited.

Define "a complete Bioware game"
I really wish i backed some Kickstarters instead of buying ME3 :/
And I readied my money, i hope my monitor can handle my fury unleashed!

In the Heresy Era, the Thousand Sons marched to Godhammer on the recently-rediscovered Machine World of the same name. Their current crest/symbol emblazoned on their left shoulder plates is that of the ouroboros.

You mean Alpha Protocol and New Vegas were bug free too? Also I don't single them out, Bethesda are the kings of bugged games but this isn't about them. Bioware? Well aside from technical issues there are never any bugs stopping game progression. I played Jade Empire, Dragon Age: Origins, ME1 and ME2 when they were unpatched and never experienced any bugs with them.

Judging from his blog posts, Josh Sawyer is also involved in whatever this is. *squee*SOLID_EVEREST wrote...

Damn, would be so awesome if it was a Kickstarter RPG project. If they still have Tim Cain, I can just imagine him and Chris Avellone teaming up to do something incredible.

I never said that. For what it's worth, I played through Alpha Protocol thrice and only came across one major issue: enemies would disappear if I reloaded a checkpoint from the prompt instead of the menu. It had major balance problems and some obnoxious sections, not bugs.Elton John is dead wrote...

I've never seen you or anyone else make the kind of post you made about those companies. If you show me one that you've made previously (along the lines of "Oh it's this company that makes buggy games, not going near this"), I'll concede the point. Also I don't single them out, Bethesda are the kings of bugged games but this isn't about them. I haven't played most of the titles you listed, but Origins definitely has bugs.

There's also the matter of the memory leak that was never fixed and actually made worse for a lot of people with patch 1.03. That same patch also introduced a bug that gave mana clash a high chance to crash the game.

Bioware games not only have bugs, their DRM system is the biggest gamekiller.
But enough about that... one more day til the mystery ends. Chris Avellone is definitely involved, he's tweeting all the blog posts and he was the one that first talked about 4 being a countdown.
Now he's tweeting about an artist who worked on PS:T... I think it's going to be the PS:T spiritual successor he was talking about doing.
