Top right doesn't always mean paragon. The only choices you can 100% say are supposed to be paragon or renegade are blue and red ones. If a choice isn't intended to be either it still has to be put somewhere on the dialogue wheel and putting it on the left could possibly result in people thinking they were just after information instead of making a decision.Pokemario wrote...

Very simple question, only renegades force people, nothing more to say.
But in ME2 the option of controlling the Geth was paragon
Is Synthesis Paragon or Renegade for you??

Yeah, letting everyone die is paragon.

Paragon and renegade are both different shades of good/heroism. Synthesis is evil/villainy, through and through.

Yeah, letting everyone die is paragon.
You don't know that will happen. Just like you can't be sure that the rachni will not come back and kill everyone, but it's paragon to let the rachni queen go.

I knew the Crucible is our only chance. If I don't use it, everyone will die. I knew this without meta-gaming.

Yeah, letting everyone die is paragon. Not using the Crucible seems Absolute Paragon. For all you know you doom the entire galaxy forever with either of the choices depending on how you view it. And like I said, it's not my favorite ending (for that reason) but it feels like his speech is the most Paragon thing in those endings.Baa Baa wrote...

But I like it! I don't really have a problem with people liking Synthesis, but the Synthetic Organic conflict I feel shouldn't belong at the end because it never felt like the main problem. Making Synthesis kind of pointless if that were removed.

Well without Metagaming i can see a ParagonShep refusing as if someone AI appeared as the Child that Shep has PTSD about and controls the Reapers i would not trust it at all and know we would end it without falling to the enemyATiBotka wrote...

And Synthesis is just global mind rape with making you think the Reapers are now "Nice guys" after killing trillions of your people

You consider sticking to your principles as more important than the life of the galaxy? That's about the most prideful and selfish decision you could make.Baa Baa wrote...

Well, no, because the top option in ME2 awards paragon points, and the bottom awards renegade points. It's hard to argue a choice isn't paragon when picking it makes your paragon rating increase.Reorte wrote...

Re-writing the heretic geth awards a lot of paragon points.

Javik, Liara, Garrus, Kaidan ect are all betrayed in merge, and that's not even mentioning the other races who where not present for this war and are now changed against their will. It's a betrayal of everyone who placed their trust on Shepard to end the Reaper threat, not to befriend them and create some messed up utopia with mind control.ATiBotka wrote...

Mind control? In your headcanon.
And I stopped the Reaper threat.

So explain to me why no one is upset that the Reapers are still alive. Show me why Javik is not upset at all that he has just been betrayed and is now the very thing he hates and the foes he hates are now alive and friends. If that's not mind control I don't know what is.ATiBotka wrote...

Well yeah, you brainwash the Reapers, who can then strong arm or intimidate or indoctrinate the rest of the galaxy. In the name of peace of course.ATiBotka wrote...
