classy analogy. But if it took you that long to figure it out then she was doing something right.

Bioware was doing something right....right till the end...then I found Biowares private parts (the catylist) and I was not happy.

Yeah, and then after that, they gave us a case of blue balls when they had Harbinger take off without saying a word.  To make matters worse, they hardly featured him in the EC and turned him to Simple Jack by mumbling something coherent.  Good God.

In retrospect, doing a trilogy at all was a mistake, since it reveals the limitations of Bio's style.

At this point I would have to agree.

If the series ended at Mass Effect, I wouldn't cherish the game any less. Hell, I would probably cherish it even more considering all that has happened.

It is like EA intentionally blamed Bioware but made it look like they were complimenting them at first glance at the same time. It's very subtle but you can tell by the wording. EA intetionally did this to distance themselves from this ending. But they didn't want to look like they were doing that.

This is EXACTLY what I thought when I read it too..

Ohh but the final revelation doesn't change that you enjoyed those great BJs now does it?

yes but I wouldn't get any more (or be able to replay any games) after that.

It ruins future enjoyment of the ME/BJ universe.

The EC release didn't fix the problem... it was like we complained that the chick had a penis to Bioware.  So, this is what Bioware does, they give us a chick with a smaller penis and tell us that the tranny is more of a woman so we should all be satisfied.  As opposed to just giving us a hot woman who would love to give us a B.J. (new ending or IT DLC).

Actually, don't know if someone posted it but there was a BW employee that said this a couple months ago-that EA only tells them they want to see a profit. That they don't get involved in the other "stuff".

Now, I firmly believe they give them guidelines especially the desire to have MP and micro-transactions within it.  That's something EA has said will be in all their games (MP).

This doesn't affect EA's status as "parasite of the gaming industry".

I feel EA gets too much hate. I have far more disdain for capcom and its dlc policies. Also ubisoft and its DRM.

Yes. EA did not write this. No sane executive would have let this out the door.

I've been saying this for MONTHS.

There are some positive things about EA. In comparsion to other publishers, they were always quite deeply involved with the PC market (they have many PC-centric franchises, delays of PC versions were very rare and their romance with draconian DRM like Securom short-lived), they're pretty much the most LGBT-inclusive publisher out there and they do have quite diversified portfolio actually. But their biggest problem is how EA treats their IPs and dev talent. As soon as something they release 'catches up', or 'clicks' with the audience, or as soon as someone proves to be talented, EA will try to exploit it to the max in the shortest amount of time possible. They're not careful either with their IPs or their studios.

Who was suggesting otherwise? EA are the ones pushing for things like online DLC and other business stuff, not nonsense storylines.

Mass Effect 3 needed more time. But I wouldn't blame EA for this. Bioware ended up rewriting parts of ME3. This pushed back their schedule.

They had just as much dev time to make ME3 as they did ME2.

As for MP, yes it's probable that EA pushed it on Bioware. However Bioware had originally planned to introduce multiplayer to Mass Effect.

EA were also the ones who forced MP functions into the game. If given the same budget and no MP features, there would have been far more SP content for a decidely SP game. EA still sucks again.

I don't think thats quite true. MP was developed in the Montreal studio by an entirely different team that was seperate from the SP team in Edmonton. I think they were given additional money to add MP, and had they chosen not too, they would not have had that money. I think MP turned out very well, its pretty fun and kept me playing for a few months more than I would have if it was just SP.

Every project has rewrites and ME3 was much more complex game to create than ME2.

the problems with the game can be blamed on both groups. I felt that the game was rushed, so bad decision making and a rushed time table from the publisher. Both are at fault in my mind

Psh EA can f*ck off. While the ending would still have been sh!t with the vanilla game we would have had SOOO much more content if they weren't rushing out the door.

That's true, I said that ME3 needed more time. At least another couple more months.

Both are to blame.
Bioware's devs for randomly deciding to abandon their original plans and to super-charge the last 10 minutes of their game with nihilism.
EA for forcing them to do that with a (probably) very limited budget and timeframe. You want to tack a forcedly artistic ending onto your game? Whatever, just don't get too pricey and get it done as quickly as possible.
Everyone sucks.

LOL @ Bioware getting thrown under the bus by their own employer. Serves them right for selling to EA in the first place.

I need to know who to hate. Can't go spreading my hate around too many people, that'd just dilute it. That'd just be inefficient.
