I played the German version (with the english workaround) back when it came out. And although it had a few charms there is really no comparison to DA:O . In fact, unless it has been majorley overhauled since I played it, I would wait for it to hit about $25 on Steam or such before buying it. Good for a diversion but nowhere near the polish of DA:O . Now would be a good time to play ME if you want to get ready for ME2...

I played Knights of the Old Republics 1 and 2, however they were both great in the event i got to make choices and what not. I am eagerly awaiting SWTOR MMO however keep myself busy I am going to play Mass Effect untill next month..

Mass Effect 1, besides a shooter game, is the dialoge and talking actually fun? do your choices have a big impact? can companions turn on you? any love secnes?

First I heard of Mass Effect at all

lol, your calling other people "anti social", what rock are you living under? You've never heard of Mass Effect? Ha, thats a good one. I hope your joking. And just so you know, any game that has dragons in it is not a rip off of DA:O. I'm pretty sure Bioware doesn't own exclusive rights to games with dragons.

lol, it was never pushed back. Again, how long have you been under that rock? If you want to know about how the game is, don't post it on a DA:O forum. Post it on a Divinity II forum.

People calling Divinity 2 a ripoff of Dragon Age? Do you not know that Divinity 2 was released months ago in Europe? Or that they aren't even the same type of game, regardless of release dates?

Haha, you don't even know what harassment is. If you did, then you'd know i was not repeatedly bothering you. I merely made one statement to you. But reading your other posts, its quite obvious your no stranger to the report button - and feel the need to announce your use of the feature to gain some sort of self assurance in regards to the situation you are in. However, i won't waste my time with you. If you think they're the same, well thats your opinion. You could very well believe that the sky is yellow. Sure. Whatever works for you.

ME is basically DAO in space. Same type of companions. Same villian. Same kind of tough moral choices. Same type of grey morality. If you really want to know what it is about you could always look for a LP (Let's Play) on youtube.

I'm only an hour or two into Divintiy 2 right now and cannot comment in depth about the game yet but so far my opinion is that it is not much like Dragon Age. I'd compare it to one of Bethesda's games before I compared it to Dragon Age. It feels less linear, more sandboxy than DA:O, to me.

I think the game looks nice. It uses the gamebryo engine so it has some of the look and feel of Oblivion or Fallout 3. In my opinion the animations look kind of jerky and exaggerated but I've heard these are being overhauled in an upcoming patch. Not everybody dislikes them, however. My gf likes the animations a lot. She actually prefers them to DA:O.

To be honest I didn't like the game all that much at first and quit after about ten minutes. But I went back and enjoyed it a little more the second time. Gradually, strangely, the game has begun to grow on me. What I originally saw as flaws are beginning to look more like charming quirks now.

I like sandbox games, though. If you're looking for a game that's just like Dragon Age you might be better off playing one of Bioware's earlier titles or waiting for Mass Effect 2.

No, Risen is a far better 3rd person action RPG than DD2.

that game to be honest looks pretty stupid to me. get myth 2 the best bloody game ever made. It makes more sense and the music is amazing as well as the gameplay. Its 11 years old now.

take a look at the 1st level mission intro.

Is there any good  games that compares to Dragon Age and are similar in terms of the choices you can make and how it effects the outcome, etc. Any PC game suggestions? I'm glad I didn't waste my 50 bucks on this.

Yeah mainly all Bioware games

Old but awesome: Baldursgate + its expansion tales of the sword coast (also a Bioware title)
Baldursgate 2 Shadows of Amn + it's expansion Throne of Bhaal (again a Bioware title and the greatest RPG ever made)
you can also find mods for these at http://www.sorcerers.net and at http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ there are a few other places too such as gibberlings3 and chosenofmystra, David Gaider is among the authors of the mods available for BG2 such as his acension mod which is at the TOP of the must have's mods list along with Unfinished Bisiness Mod which restores alot of the cut content and Dialog from BG2 (found at pocketplane.net)

Seeing how you particularly mentioned the Dialog you may be interested in NPC mods like Fade http://www.shsforums.net/index.php? Fade is IMO the best NPC created she is extremely well written and voiced and comes along with a personal quest that is well thought well balanced and fits right in.

There is also Knights Of The Old Republic and KOTOR2 Return of the Sith Lords, I particularly liked K2 TSL unfortunately it suffered from an over abundance of cut content that left the story rather weak in spots, there are restoration mods that add the content back but I have not personaly tried them nor do I know where to pick them up at.

Neverwinter Nights and NWN 2 are also both good choices but again in the case of NWN 2 it suffers from the lack of content which becomes obvious as the story progresses. NWN1 and KOTOR1 are both from Bioware while NWN2 and KOTOR2 are both Obsidian, Obsidian did a good job with what was there, just dont expect to be wowed like you would from a Bioware title.

For a completetly open ended story experience of the same genre Oblivion would be your best bet. It is like 4 years old but the graphics were ahead of their time, and it is fully modifiable like dragon age. On top of that Oblivion has a large library of mods available already to enhance the game. The toolset for Oblivion is much easier to use than DAO's . The best part is you can get the game of the year edition for like $20 which has all the expansions they came out with for that game. Notice I said expansions not DLC'S these are full expansions that add many hours to your gameplay.

Other than that for a newer title Risen was not a bad medeval rpg game. It's not openended but it was pretty good game all and all.:)

You know, I just realized the other day, Bethesda, makers of the Elder Scrolls series (Oblivion) was located in the same city I worked in for 10 years and I never once visited their offices!

That would have been cool to visit that's for sure. To get a glimse of them hard at work making the games.

I don't get how Divinity 2 could be a rip-off of Dragon Age when it has been in development for years and released only a few weeks after Dragon Age. Furthermore, Divinity 2 is a sequel Divine Divinity, which came out 7 years before Dragon Age.

Really, people should think before you say such things. Dragon Age is only two months old.

Man at least someone on these forum isn't a blind fanboy(sorry but i had to get this out) his comment is actually embarrassing and just show that he knows nothing about this topic, other than what he heard.

I have Divinity Ego Drconis for the PC,yes the PC version. The port over to console has not been so good as it was actually being made for the PC,these things happen.

As for the game and having some interaction with NPC, man people really need to do their homework,it's a "fully voiced" just like DAO. As for the companions,no you don't get a whole team but who really needs a whole team when i can be any class i want or have any skill as long as i have the points.

You can have ghosts companion or skeletons or zombie, they will fight by your side and are on cool downs 180s-300s,something like that. Graphically it trumps DAO into the wayside,it's beautiful running on extreme. The game has some brilliant cut scenes and music and a fantastic story.

It's also hard and does not hold your hand, you really have to look for NPC and the places they send you to find. You also have this skill call "mindread" which allows you to gage secrets from every npc in the game, the higher the better the secret that will lead to a quests or some hidden treasure,it's brilliant.

I have DAO and played through twice, but i can hand on hart say that Divinity 2 is a better game in every way,it's gives you that vast world RPG feel but with sandbox style.

It is not a rip off from DAO it's been in development the same time,it's a European RPG that like "The "Witcher" doesn't get the same cover as game made in the US or by Bioware in Canada, even though it sold millions of units.

If it was made by any of them dev teams it would be game of the year or RPG of the year on PC.

I can't stress enough,if you want a top rpg for your PC then don't let this game pass you by. It has ported over to console not to good, you can see this by the XBOX demo,it's glitchy.

Look, they are both good game that are both RPG but one is a linear movie roller coaster the other is a full open world to fly or walk around. Both are fully voiced with only your own character not saying anything and both have great cut scenes but Divinity beats DAO for story,it's original and not some lotr carbon copy.

This is my opinion all i can say is wait fro the USA pc reviews to come in,you will see it's an awesome game.

I played the demo, and while kicking the chickens around the starting area was fun, the dialog and story intro seemed cheesy, hackneyed, and uninspired, the female npcs wobbled and moved like they had no spines when they talked, and I was really just unmotivated to play further once I ran out of chickens to kick. Not enough interesting story hooks for me.

Just another opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I have both and have to say that Dragon Age is far better than Divinity II, but it's still a fun and enjoyable game to play, though sometimes it's really hard even on easy, but you can easily start to own everyone in the game once you have high levels in fireball and firewall. There are interactions with NPCs but they're not as great as what you would get from BioWare games. You have no companions but a pet that you can summon and assemble parts to with help from a necromancers, other than that, you're alone in Rivellon.
