Well when you're asked to do a crapload of drone missions and they barely spawn in games, kind of hard to complete it no matter how much you play.
But then again... "numbers".

Had tons of escort missions personally. Out of 27 matches played I had 21 escorts, next closest being hack objectives at 18.

My friends and I actually assumed that they had *bumped up the chances* since we had so many. Quite the opposite experience from what you guys are remembering.

Sorry Bioware, this is at you'r own fault.

First 12 round played with only 3 escort missions.

Seriously, you gave us an objective but no tools, might as well go in and face reapers on gold with no powers and weapons.

Can't say I'm surprised. I usually get way too many escort missions, but they were oddly rare this weekend.

Felt the same way. Thought it was just paranoia for a while lol.

Entire weekend, 2-3 Escorts. Today, 5-6 Escorts so far.

Well WTF do you expect bioware? Let this be a lesson to you to not do weekend events based on RNG. I didn't get ONE escort mission all weekend.

Pretty crappy challenge idea

My experience was on the complete opposite side of what everyone else went through. I only played 9-10 games, and had 14 escort waves...(If I remember correctly, I just know I had more drones than I did games played with numbers around what I estimated)

WHAT?! NO JUMBO EQUIPMENT PACK?! Geez! Bioware! Now I have to spend 33k credits, less than half of a gold match.

I'm shocked that many escorts even spawned. I didn't get any to come up.

Seriously this.
I never understood basing the outcome of an operation on an event the player has little control over happening. If they were going to do that, they should have made every mission escorts. Otherwise they were essentially conducting a test on how many games were played. And as the failure suggests, less people are playing.

We were meant to fail so that they could reveal new DLC. That's the way it goes. If I'm wrong; who gives a f****?

Re: Operation VIGILANCE

Distribution: N7 Forces Only

Soldiers of the Milky Way –

As mentioned in previous communications, we’ve seen a number of reports describing unusual enemy activity. Operation VIGILANCE was prompted by the latest in a string of unexpected attacks. I regret to inform you that the operation has failed.

Before our drones could complete their assignments, our troops were overrun by enemy forces. It is clear they knew what we were trying to do. Our troops were forced to salvage what they could before withdrawing from the battlefield. While we will put the salvaged materials to good use, we’ve learned very little about the initial attacks or how we might counter similar attacks in the future.

We will continue our investigation. I know that comes as little consolation to those involved. To you, all I can say is that you must stay alert and rely on your fellow soldiers. The Reapers have a plan. We must be ready for anything.

--Admiral Hackett

Edit: 231,456 escorts were successful. Close, but not enough.

We already told you many time, that is what you get when your victory pack is nothing more than a jumbo pack.

Why would we work 2 days in easier and less rewarding difficulty for 30k worth of consumables for your operation when a single gold run is worth the double.

Put Promo weapons inside of them and the comunity will be mobilized, this is almost guaranteed.

Perhaps if they truly wanted the mission to succeed they should have added a few more escort missions. Btw doesn't anyone at bioware know that escort missions are horrible? They never should have put in to the game.

Trolled by the RNG again!

But yeah, sounds rigged in order to introduce DLC or some other surprise. Can't complain, though. The week when Banshees would spawn randomly in any match was an awesome "punishment"' so whatever they have in store, hopefully it will be fun.

So close! :( I had a lot of escort missions when I played on friday, sometimes twice a mission, but it seems like that was just a random fluke. ;_;

They like to alternate between operations that are cakewalks and operations that are obviously impossible. So, I'm not surprised and not disappointed in the least.

After the last one, I'm not surprised. If you looked at the posts, it was pretty obvious that everyone expected us to fail. When we actually managed to pull through at the last minute, I believe they where genuinely surprise. Given that every new DLC is preceded by a scripted failure, so more obvious than others, this time we where given one that would most likely fail. I saw a thread floating around over the weekend, where someone figured up, using the last mission number and statistics, that everyone who did the last one would each have to do 19 missions to completion in order to achieve the result. Add in the fact that there was only a 1/5 shot of getting a escort mission, I'm amazed we actually came so close.

The squad packs are fairly worthless but I have gotten a n7 weapon each allied pack.

Here's our operation record:

Success
Success
Success
Failure
Success

Noticing a pattern here.
<Reaper voice> THE CYCLE MUST CONTINUE. THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE.

This was a planned FAIL.
I got barely any escort missions over the weekend, when I usually get all the time.
Maybe this is a set-up for a new DLC? Hopefully.

Nice to see a number actually put down for the Op's failure unlike all the other ones

Edit: Thank you. Well, at least we were close. I blame the random objective generator.

Likewise.  I didn't get any escort missions for two days straight this weekend.   <_<
