We got close which proves it was possible. But with tracking not possible to set up we couldn't tell how close until the end. I look forward to hearing the details of the next operation (although I will be unable to participate)

Got 1 Escort mission.
No wonder we failed. Escorts seemed to be more rare.
Could also be that those of us who keep getting rare equipment, instead of new gear and guns, got tired of playing. Im playing only on objective weekends to hang with the cool people I've met. I don't think Ill be a regular again until more MP content is released.

I hope you heard that Bioware. You better give me a commendation pack, or BOOHOOZulu will never play again. <_<STRAKAZulu wrote...
We'd better get those Commendation Packs, or I'll never play another op.

You'll be back as soon as the victory pack contains a new character from the next DLC.

Bioware knew this would fail. They obviously have the means to see this kind of statistic and knew that there would never be 250,000 escort missions even attempted over the time period alloted.
If the community could have had the ability to CHOOSE escort missions to complete, we could have doubled or tripled the required number.
Relying on a RANDOM occurence was unfair and smells of a set-up. Sort of like the store(just saying).
We beat the weekend: The whole operation was far too easy and all the braggers crawl out of their holes.
We get beaten: The whole operation was unfair and all the whiners step up and spam words in CAPITALS.

It was a fair, achievable challenge, good effort but not quite enough! Regroup for next mission and try harder with the new friends you made this weekend!

We failed because BW wanted us to fail. Pretty simple. Not a big deal, though, as the reward for victory is barely more than a nod.

I'm just surprised I still haven't gotten any character customization cards for the original female human Adept. I like using her but she needs more colour in her armour.

i was a little surprised by how many people were using medkits on bronze tho. about 5 or 6 times i was running to a downed member only to see them pop back up. rocket launchers too.
i didnt use any consumables myself, so i can feel good aboot that.

^^^^^^ this exactly, before the weekend op i got the drone escort mission loads, then when the operation started i got it twice all weekend, so to me it pretty much looked like bioware wanted us to fail, or they would have made that mission available more for the op, never mind though, i wont try so hard next time we get 1 of those type of goals, if all the mp bugs got fixed at least i'd have fun playing regardless of failing the goals

It feels sometimes that these operations are set up to fail, as the ones we always seem to fail are the ones that require something unique or heavy, heavy farming to get done properly. In other words, unusual player activity. Activity that would likely change if more players actually knew things were going on.

This is purely anecdotal, as is the fact that I got 21 in 31 missions. Truth is we have no access to anything empirical so no point in theorizing conspiracy based on each's personal experience (which at best is very loose - ex: in 20-25 missions I only got 2 -3 escorts....not so tight). Hardly evidence to impugn the integrity of this BW team with either.

Would it be so painful to make a way of announcing the weekend in game? There seemed to be too many players clueless as to the objectives or that there was even an event this weekend. I personally seem to need to manually go to the masseffect.com website to check if there even is an event going on. The game's opening screen has a ticker you made capable of delivering DLC news, use it to announce the operation, or add a piece to the multiplayer overlay that shows what's going on.

They do announce it to the player, one time, the first time you enter multiplayer during the op weekend. At least they always have for me, maybe it's not the same for other players.

I wonder if there was some synergy in that they're more likely to come up in Silver and Gold, but too many people were playing Bronze to avoid using supplies so that skewed the distribution. Or maybe BioWare attempted to make them slightly less probably so it would take a concerted effort to play more games, and altered the percentages too much.

had collection issues and finally said make up a number and give em a fail. It's like the
movie Spaceballs and the code for the air shield for the planet Druidia. Whats the code...
1 2 3 4 5...the code is 12345...yes, that's the code some idiot puts on his briefcase.
Well, to make us feel better or to tease us along they adjust the 2 in front and give us
231,456 maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but it took them a very long time to get
back with the results which furthers my theory that they were having problems accessing the server data.
HUXX OUT!

I played about 15 matches and some of them had one or even none escorts.
If they changed all the random events to only escorts it would have been easier.

I won't go into the math, but the allied goal isn't based on your or my experience. It is based on hundreds of thousands of games. The randomness is pretty much nullified (+/ 1000 or so). It all comes down to the amount we all played. And apparently, it wasn't enough. By about 8%.
[unless there was something systematic at play, like tweaing of the 1/5 probability. But as Datdude said, we simply do not have the info to judge this]

Soldiers of the Milky Way –
As mentioned in previous communications, we’ve seen a number of reports describing unusual enemy activity. Operation VIGILANCE was prompted by the latest in a string of unexpected attacks. I regret to inform you that the operation has failed.
Before our drones could complete their assignments, our troops were overrun by enemy forces. It is clear they knew what we were trying to do. Our troops were forced to salvage what they could before withdrawing from the battlefield. While we will put the salvaged materials to good use, we’ve learned very little about the initial attacks or how we might counter similar attacks in the future.
We will continue our investigation. I know that comes as little consolation to those involved. To you, all I can say is that you must stay alert and rely on your fellow soldiers. The Reapers have a plan. We must be ready for anything.
--Admiral Hackett
Edit: 231,456 escorts were successful. Close, but not enough.
...considering I played about 26 hours of ME3 MP during this weekend, I find this hard to believe.
But whatever.

Hopefully the are delaying new MP content because of the recent release of the Leviathan DLC (which was great).
Let's hope for the best in the next future.
