There wasn't enough people playing.
I admit that there were less than usual escort missions last weekend, I posted that in the operation forum and a lot of other players did the same, and some have posted about it in this forum too.
I must have done over 100 missions (bronze, silver & gold) between friday afternoon and sunday night, both with friends and randoms, and only 40-50% of them had escorts, but that could've been easily compensated by a larger number of players participating.
So the way I see it is that people may be losing interest and stopped caring about the game, wich is a terrible sign.
I pray to God that I'm wrong and that the causes of our failure are those exposed by other posters in this forum, but if I'm not then all I have to say is: analize your own figures Bioware because an alarm panel has just started to flash.

Bioware knew this would fail. They obviously have the means to see this kind of statistic and knew that there would never be 250,000 escort missions even attempted over the time period alloted.
If the community could have had the ability to CHOOSE escort missions to complete, we could have doubled or tripled the required number.
Relying on a RANDOM occurence was unfair and smells of a set-up. Sort of like the store(just saying).
We beat the weekend: The whole operation was far too easy and all the braggers crawl out of their holes.
We get beaten: The whole operation was unfair and all the whiners step up and spam words in CAPITALS.

It was a fair, achievable challenge, good effort but not quite enough! Regroup for next mission and try harder with the new friends you made this weekend!
You guys are missing the point in the quoted complaint. Since objectives are randomized, we can have no direct influence on the outcome of the event. My guess is that few escorts actually failed on Bronze or Silver, with more failures on Gold and Platinum plausible. But the "achievable challenge" to which you refer is not achievable by skill or time invested. We failed the objective at least in part because the challenge relied on chance first, proficiency second.

And, this may sound dickish, but I'm glad to see other were getting disconnected from EA servers too. I thought it was just my ISP going to crap on me. Glad it wasn't.

Well, we failed!!!! Sometimes things just don't go according to plan. Whether the blame lies with not enough players as some think or bioware as others think, it doesn't really matter. It's over now and we can't change it. What we can do though, is be happy with the friends we made and with the fun we had trying to reach the goal. I knew this would be a difficult one but I had a lot of fun making new friends and playing matches with them. That is a big reward for me right there :-)
Agreed, we need to move on.
Is just that the wound is fresh and still hurts, none of us like to lose, but we have to accept that we can't win all the time, even the greatest homerunners get struck out.

I understand completely. I hate losing too and was quite disappointed when we were so close but didn't get it. But, in finding new friends to play with, I realised that I did get a reward for this weekend. It's not a victory pack but imo, something better. Just my opinion and I realise that others may not feel as I do.

No, I don't think we are missing the point. You COULD directly influence the outcome by PLAYING MORE. See my other post. The sample set was so large that the randomness was removed (unless it wasn't truly random). The primary things at play were:
(1) How many missions Bioware assumed we would have to play to achieve the goal
(2) How many we did play
We missed by EIGHT PERCENT. If we all played 8% more games (9% to be safe), mission success!

Disagree, clearly by the numbers, 8% more effort /matches would have yielded the desired outcome barring an arithmetic abberation. Objectives are randomized during the normal MP experience as well....obviously BW has the math and estimated what a fair challenge would be, and looks like they were within an 8% tolerance.

Agreed, 8% is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
