On the one hand, I won't miss the Victory pack all that much. Specially since last weekend's contained literally nothing but ammo equipment for me, and I'm nowhere closed to having maxed out my rares (seriously, what the hell Bioware).

On the other hand... it does worry me just a tad. I haven't been playing much for a while, as the store drop system, the mountains of glitches and bugs, and the absence of Bioware expressing any sort of long term vision for this game beyond "as long as these suckers keep giving us money" just made the game too frustrating for me to play beyond the weekend ops. But I maintain a (likely foolish) hope that a substantial patch would rekindle my enjoyment and bring me right back.

But that won't happen if the community just dies. This event failure isn't the death knell, but it does play into the notion that this game is dying. And that would suck. Sure, it won't stick around forever, but I would like to come back to it after Bioware gets its house in order.

Only that the next operation will have a penalty.

If they'd said that by completing our allied goal we'd be allowed to carry 6 missiles or that we'd get a 2nd N7 weapon then i'd care. But since the reward is a pack of ammos, i really couldn't give a rats a**

This.

I usually find failure preferable, as the special conditions that follow can make the game more interesting. I don't give a damn about the victory pack.

Somewhere on the fourms one of the devs said that their is a really big patch coming. They didn't say when though I'm assuming its with the new DLC.

Personally I find the 'punishments' more interesting than the majority of the victory packs.

The unofficial individual challenge (=soloing) was more interesting anyway. First time I soloed in months, and first time I soloed Silver!

I don't care. But I haven't yet gotten my commendation pack. That is annoying.

Most likely the only reason people actually give a **** about the operation is that it probably means that we have to wait another week or two for DLC/DLC news.

There is literally no purposeful reason to doing the allied objective, at best, you'll get one rare that would probably just buy from a Spectre Pack, and that's only about 25 minutes of work. So, their logic is "spend 2/3 days working with the community for an objective, and if you succeed we'll give you the equivalent of 25 minutes of effort". The only thing that is possibly appealing in the common rewards is the commendation packs, which I'm sure you'll find far more people working on doing (instead of the primary objective).

Either Bioware should start upping the ante or just give it up now. Might as well just give us a free N7 weapon every fortnight and give up the gimmick of the whole objective system, I doubt there's that many who care for it, unless they give a nice condition to it (the whole "get a UR weapon free" clearly got everyones attention and we liked it, why not keep doing that?)

I KNOW RIGHT!! for those of us that were unable to hookup with our usual friends because they were doing rl stuff till late sunday night...there was no other way...TOO MANY jerks in PUGs individuals that might have been unaware of what the challenge criteria actually was.

We never really get anything in the victory packs for those who play so much. All I get in those are lvl 4 ammo, the money is in the Commendation Packs guarateed promotional weapon. Now I realize that thier were some exceptions Medi-gel cap +1, and an extra promo weapon but that was it if my memory serves right.

How do you guys feel?

Unless it gives out something more than a boosted JEP, no, I don't care.

I am very, very happy we failed. The most interesting matches I've played are the tweaked ones after failure: banshees everywhere and 2:30 extractions. Those were fun. If Bioware really thought things through, IMO, they'd give us a change-up for winning instead of for losing.

Running a weekend operation on the opening week of the NFL season likely didn't help matters. That probably drove the number of players here in the U.S. down quite a bit after Saturday night. I know I didn't turn my 360 on at all on Sunday or Monday.

I really don't care, unless I also miss my commendation pack for whatever reason. Doesn't help that some of the objectives seem to be made to fail (Operation Silencer and Broadside (or whichever one had the vague wording) anyone?)
