I am in no way a multiplayer oriented gamer and I loathe the typical mmo model (hell, MMO's in general) that has plagued the industry for over half a decade now...

but if you are genuinely looking toward other successful game properties on how to go forward with your wonderfully crafted "Thedas", look no further than Guild wars 2...

HOE-LEE-****!

man, just copy that smooth ass gameplay, sweet combat mechanic, beautiful art style and (if you must) look to it for a way to implement the dreaded multiplayer aspect...then just insert your wonderfully crafted story and I guarantee you will not only avert a DA2 like catastrophe but will create something that can rival and perhaps even surpass DAO-all while bringing in the new, more "action oriented" gamer you've long coveted.

that is all.

Ugh, I can't say I agree. I wasn't that amazed by Guild Wars 2 though, to be honest. The art is pretty good though, I admit.

How ?????

On PVP you are dead if you pause, on PVE you are kicked off the group if you don't carry your own weight

I resumed 3 DA:Origins characters, after over 20 full runs with it since release. Been a while since I touched DA:O after DA2, The Witcher 2 and ME2/3 were released.

I must say that everything I thought when DA2 were released is still the same. It is absurd how much better of a game Origins is compared to DA][. Whoever said that Origins had too much and it wasn't necessary is a moron who never played games made out of love for the game, not cheap business oriented productions.

DA3 should have a lot more of Origins and less of ][ if it is to be a great game.

After learning more about the Mage Templar conflict beyond the second Dragon Age game (which is not unexpected for EA to require people to buy more materials outside of the game to get the whole story), it's heading towards a factioned PvP game whether or not we agree with it.

EA is not a hands-off publisher, and EA has stated that they do not want to publish any more single-player-only games.

While all of that doesn't necessarily mean the next Dragon Age won't be totally awesome, the chances strongly lean against the game being like the Dragon Age we've known and, thereby, against it being totally awesome to existing fans of Dragon Age versus fans of Generic Faction PvP Game set in Thedas.

I only read "World of warcraft" and made me tremble in anger..

If for any chaotic reason they do have a pvp type of games it will end the same as world of warcraft.. mages will be nerfed to oblivion and back again.. meh any excuses to nerf and destroy say class will be a very good one. I can see it all over again!
If you think it won't affect the single players.. think again.. remember in DAO mages could shatter enemies with 1 spell?..  some players saw it as OP.. now only happens if you use 2  type of spells.. meh and yes is a good danm single player game.. now multiply that in a player vs player environment... well you get the picture.

Anyway I hope there is not forced multiplayer in DA games to see a different ending..  <_<

I suppose Bioware should make another MMO and see how it goes.. /hahahaha good one!

oh well if da3 is a mp game i guess i'll pass on it and find a new single player game out there, i hate mp games in general, and theres enough of those out there, apart from me3 i will not play mp games what so ever, its sad because i have most of biowares games except the mmo games, and i've loved all of their work, but i just have no interest in playing mp :(

To clarify: Just because the extended, official lore is setting the stage perfectly for factioned PvP encounters (not an MMO, mind you, but stuff like ME3 with groups against each other), it does not mean that's what they will do. It's just that what they have currently in the lore points right at it. That's not a 100% guarantee of what will happen. It's an observational guess.

Agreed, IMHO I felt that dragon age 2 was some spin off made by another firm not a sequel..... but what do I know.

Bioware seemed to change the direction of their games to try to appeal to a larger market, hence ME2 (Which I actually enjoyed but was still furious about lack of inventory and open world exploration), ME3, and DA2

I probably will not get DA3 because of the following:

1. Bioware will not allow you to import your Grey Warden in favor of a voiced protagonist or Hawke

2. DA3 will offer the same action/non tactical oriented combat of DA2

3. MP will most likely be a feature and it will take away from SP as well as attempt to balance the classes

4. Decisions will most likely be for nothing

5.  If your stuck in Kirkwall or some generic place I def wont consider it...

6.  Dialog wheel; totally unnecessary and just an obvious ploy to make the ui look prettier but restricts dialog to a bs format

7. terrible perk tree; I much prefered the tiers and seperated skill lines in DAO

8. Skyrim; Bioware already stated that they are taking influence from skyrim, a very popular RPG, which offers game mechanics IMO that wont work well in a character oriented narrative focused RPG (thats a mouth full :)  Sure it will
draw in Bethesda fans but it will just stretch the game even thinner...... NOTE: I love Elder Scrolls but I do not want Dragon Age to be a Mass Final Skyrim Effect Fantasy Scrolls Wannabe

Those are my reasons at the end of DAO they say that there are more adventures to be had for my Grey Warden, I guess they were only refering to DAO DLC and Awakenings and no sequels, very disappointing  (cries)
:crying:

Mine was an observation aswell! ... after playing wow for 5 years, after playing Diablo2 ladder for 5-6 years, after playing warcraft ladder.. yeah I know the good, the bad and the ugly from multiplayers, to the ones who wants to paint multiplayer as pink, oh please go ahead, but I'll remind you that pink is not  a real colour. meh

Yes, but only a DM could pause NWN at the server where I played. And one with fat fingers left the world paused as he left for the day and it was hours before another DM joined to unpause it. LOL

NWN2 allows pause and play during multiplayer and works well when I play NWN2 with a friend.

Yes, I assume being with someone who actually agrees with your pauses or your plays greatly benefits the situation. It literally CANNOT work in today's multiplayer, no matter what combat is implemented into DA:3.

A separate section of the server could be for those who wanted pause and play.
