Just played through as Male Shep for the second time, romance Ash the fist time, this time had Kaiden as VS, and noticed that he was getting romance options. While I dont mind as such, there was no hint of this in ME1.
Why did BW decide to make him Bi, and why not Ashley as well, or in fact every character?, its not like therre were no option for Male Shep, Steve for example, my Male Shep was mates with Steve while romancing Ashley, and I liked Steves character development. But Kaidan's seems forced to me.
Because maybe kaidan was always bisexual or wasn't expressing his sexuality because of the fear or anger he may receive from others also their were no gay romances for male shepard in the past
I suppose.
I don't mind that BW have decided that he's Bisexual, it just seems strange that there is no mention of it anywhere until ME3.
If its just to give players other options, I am surprised that they didn't do the same to Ashley, as you could use the same arguements about her.
Far as I know, Kaidan would be bissexual on ME1, but they cut it. When they decided to add gay romance on ME3, Kaidan was a natural choice, which was a good idea. My gay friend, for example, played the first two games without doing romances, knowing that ME3 would have the option to romance Kaidan (he started in 2011, when I already knew about the gay options), that he liked since ME1. So for him, was like the romance started on ME1, but he couldn't actually make Shepard express it in the first two game. For him, Shepard was gay since ever, same for Kaidan... It can be awkward for us, but for a gay player, is nice to have someone since ME1 that they can relate with..
