Since when was Kaidan Bisexual

And I still think they planned to include it in ME1 and cut it anyway, even if those lines aren't proof.

Pandering + BWs willingness to be ****** poor in their character developments
Kaiden's fan didn't mind in fact alot welcomed it
BW loves retcons if it brings them money
they want a way to flaunt how open minded they are despite the fact fshep could be gay for all 3 games.
take your pick,
but BW has now set up a presidence that they can change all their characters even their main ones (who had press releases stating they were straight mind you) into whatever orientation they please even going so far as to now make them no longer romanceable so for instance in ME4 Cortez will be straight for f-main character even though he was established in ME3 as gay. BW should've waited till Me4 to do the either gender hero can be bi it would've made sense but BW shows they don't care about character integrity, plot, or consequences.

How can you look at Kaidan and not think 'gay'? Well, bisexual, but he's still the type. Ashley is not.
I'm a gay person and I didn't know Kaidan swung that way until he came on to my char. I think you're confusing "Gay" behaviour for sensitiv behaviour.
Sensitive and thoughtful men are not always Gay.

But when it turns out to be true, suddenly we've got people screeching "LOLZ RETCON RETCON ROFL ONE!!!!!!!!ONEONE!!!!!!!! THERE WUZ NO HINT OF IT IN ME 1 LOL"
This is just beyond sad.
And of course, if gay players don't get a romance, they're being discriminated against. Or BioWare is taking away control from 'my' Shepard. And if gay players get a romance, suddenly it's 'pandering' or 'wish fulfillment.'

If ashley became a femshep LI then there would be 3 lesbian options and 2 straight ones.
Imagine, just imagine the ****storm if for manshep there were 3 gay options and 2 straight. Society sucks.
I'd welcome Ashley as a S/S LI... and you can actually play fem!Shep and end up with no O/S LI's at all: If Ashley is your Virmire survivor and you didn't romance Garrus/got him killed in ME2 you're left with no male LI's for femShep since Thane gets the Katana and Jacob switches to femHawke.
Imagine if that'd been MShep and either Liara, Miranda or Jack had cheated on them, then casually introduced their new boyfriend to MShep and then informed they were having a baby with their new sweetheart. Then Manly!Shep finds out pretty much all other women in his life are either not interested in him or dead. After that Sad!Manly!Shep goes to have chat with this hot male reporter who's dressed in a formfitting catsuit and tries to hit on them after the interview.
The fanboyrage, the ****storm! It would've been massive.
But these theads (and the issues of minority rights in general) really do remind me of how much we humans actually suck.
I need to go and... I don't know, knit or something... to calm down...

In actuality, that line was cited as one that could be construed as extra platonic, and the vast majority of the people who said this did so in support of an MShep/Kaidan arc. BioWare then implemented the idea when they saw the demand.
The people saying it smells of retcon are not the same ones who say Kaidan's romantic feelings for MShep were "obvious."

Maybe you should consider the possibility that Jacob was chosen to have a new love interest because he was an immensely unpopular romance option and not because he was male...?
He was a s****y love interest from the get-go (he sneaks, sneaks into fem!Shep's private quaters! Where I'm from sneaking into someone's house is rewarded with a kick in the jewels. I don't care how "funny" that and the "prize" comment is supposed to be, that's really creepy behaviour) and that I'm blaming on BioWare for not writing him properly.
He was also the only LI of colour in ME universe until ME3, where we got both Steve and Samantha (which is only made more awesome that they're both gay, since LGBT POC are pretty hard to find in mainstream media).
And even if he was so horrendously unpopular, why not just give him the "Jack" treatment of couple extra lines and an extra cutscene and only have him start date Brynn(sp?) if he wasn't romanced? Instead, BW made him an a**hole and a cheater and femShep is not even given any choise to say "You know what? I'm so not okay with this!" and have a good ol'fashioned screaming match with Jacob. Instead the dialogue options and the writing force you to be completely cavalier about the whole thing.
Also, if they knew one of their LI's was lacking (as Jacob sure was) why not make James a new O/S romance option for fem/Sheps? You know, the kind of romance option who has enough plot armour to actually stay alive for the entire game, and the grace not to cheat on you? Is that really too much to ask?
But it still doesn't change the fact that fem!Sheps have in any playthrough 3 S/S LI's in ME3, but max 2 male LI's (and Garrus is only available if you romanced him in ME2 and Kaidan is an option only if you sacrificed Ash on Virmire) and if MShep had ended up in a similar situation, there'd been a ****storm like no other. Because when it's F/F its hot but when it's M/M it's icky!

they made him bi because it is now racism/sexism if you don't yell "HEY GUYS DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE NOT ONLY STRAIGHT PEOPLE?" to others.
Yeah, God forbid humankind starts acting like an adult and finally becomes a bit more inclusive in the representation of minorities in the (not so) mainstream media. Allert the press.
BTW, the term you're looking for is heterosexist.
... Are the Reapers here already? Not that we could be called "an advanced civilisation" but anyway...

Tragically kaiden died at virmire without ever being allowed to express his feelings. Meanwhile man shep consensually ravaged Liara, Jack and Tali. Blue babies on the way.
One will be named Kai in honor of kaidens sacrifice

I don't mind that BW have decided that he's Bisexual, it just seems strange that there is no mention of it anywhere until ME3.
I took it as a "Brothers in Arms" thing myself, but what ever works for you lol.

Yes because you wanted more out of it, where as others see that as just best friend/friendship talk, nothing more. You can interept a lot of things squadmates say, Jack's girl's club comment for example, etc. The decision was based on fan demand and nothing more.
Honestly though, who cares, I'm cool with it, it doesn't take anything away from the character, at least not for me, he's always been the same old Kaidan I remember, except for the whole "I still don't trust you" drama that goes throughout ME3, but that's understandable from his position.
