We'd be more likely to get a playable elcor character since it was already explained in ME3 how they are able to fight on the frontlines.
We know from the fetch quests and EMS stuff that there are volus bombers - but those are ships.
Also giving every volus Minagen X3 to turn them into biotic gods isn't a viable solution since long-term exposure can lead to death.

If the Collectors are back, this mean that this guy can return too:

Gentlemen, prepare to be probed in Uranus.

Let's say it made you understand the importance of cover quite the hard way. And also what a long fight really looks like... Even the last boss was faster to kill.

yep, fighting them on Horizon with husks coming after you is horrendous, I dont think I've ever managed a playthrough on hardcore without dying there at least once.

Bioware offices just had an infestation of biotic doom monkeys.
They're currently engaged in bloody trench warfare against said monkeys.
So next week will be quite busy for them if they can even survive the weekend.
At least that's what I gathered from that status update.
I suppose it could be interpreted as that

You don't assault your potential customers with tons of new products in one period, at least I wouldn't.. not for something like this. A "slow drip" approach is working well for Bioware so far, and I think the timing is right for them to release DLC soon, say late September/early October, so that people can actually play it. Once people have time to play it (which, I assume, translates to more money for Bioware through pack/game purchases) and speculate over possible story connections, then maybe the new anime series or comics or whatever can elaborate. Also.. it's just an opinion... business is a game (pun!), and there are many ways to win that game.

Fighting them on the ship in the middle of the game while you are unprepared is like 10 times worse than fighting them on Horizon; you have nowhere to run. Although, the last part of Horizon was tough. I ended up going against them as an Infiltrator on Insanity.. and I forgot to do the Shadow Broker stuff beforehand and get the right squadmates. It was pretty tough.
I do really hope they come to multiplayer in ME3. I think they could provide a different challenge, maybe even a tougher challenge than the other factions. We'll see...

A platinum Prime is more of a threat than a scion. Most of the hype is from fighting one at a low level on horizon. and then soon after on the Collector ship. Fairly certain a level competent L20 team would dismantle a Scion is same order as any other platinum boss.
