Can someone explain to me how this can be a co-op game and yet people are saying I am getting carried?!

You need to know when to shot like mad and when to provide help to others (by shield or whatever), I bet you got caried on a big backpack, I know it doesn't feel nice, but is the truth, you need to learn to play in a more aggressive way.

Seriously, I am getting very tired of hearing from randoms that I am getting carried. I have basically been playing this game since launch and even though I am not one of the best players out there I know I am a very good player.
Thing is, I usually play support roles and I play them in a way that benefits the whole team and not just myself. I can hold my own in a game on bronze and silver (haven’t solo’d them yet but again, it’s a co-op game) and on gold (mostly Firebase White and Geth) we reach extraction at least 75% of the time.
Today I played a Platinum match for the first time using my Paladin, I got about 10 k in score (map and enemy were not random so that’s why my score was so low) but I contributed by blocking enemy shots with my shield and also reviving people a lot. After the match I was kicked and got a message that I suck and that I should go back to bronze!!! <_<
Did another match again after that and this time I used my Asari Justicar and got over 20 k in points, got kicked and got another message! Did one more match with Salarian Engineer and got around 20 k, was kicked and got a message!!!
What people need to understand is that score really doesn’t matter, I am a good player and I was helping the team a lot, I didn’t save on my consumables as “bad” players do but instead I used all of my medigels and ops packs in all of my games. I would say that it is all the other players that just can’t comprehend the meaning of co-op? If I am helping the team by playing a support role like that, how in hell can they say I am getting carried?! Can someone explain this to me because I sure as hell can’t understand how that could be the case
you tried this trick before. its even less funny this time

Yes and no. The GI has probably the biggest dmg output of any character in the game (if you're good with him, which I am not I might add).Lord_Sirian wrote...

Yeah I get that, and I actually do that as well. In between the Prime's shooting cycles, I ED, Snapfreeze and slap it. I just wanted to point out, that you can't generalize by saying support is a lie.Lord_Sirian wrote...

Really ? So my Paladin standing in front of a Cerberus Tower with his shield so the other guys can destroy it without being torn to pieces is a lie ? Or my Paladin standing tall and soaking all the shots of that damn Prime so the others can blast that thing into smithereens is a lie ?Lord_Sirian wrote...
The support role is a lie. There is only damage output.
In this game you would be better served, and would much better serve your team by not just standing there. A good Paladin will mix snap freezes, ED's and heavy melees (as well as shield plants) to help their team mates drop that damn Prime much faster. (100% armour debuff = Prime dies very quickly).
I know, I do it all the time.
So yes, your Paladin standing there doing nothing might look cool, but you could be helping so much more.
Btw, debuff is exactly that, support :-p
If that's the case then when I play my Piranha GI I am playing a support role.
Look, I am not trying to defend the op here, b/c 10k or even 20k on Platinum is really hard to pull off (NOT in a good way). I only wanted to point out, that not everything is about dmg output, and points for that matter. If I freeze everything with cryo-blast and the guys around me kill the frozen enemies, I have a very low dmg output but still am contributing....
btw: I never play Platinum (yet) because I have neither the experience nor the equipment. I am only starting do dabble in Gold matches...

By Gold you mean Geth on Firebase White right? Because that doesn't really count as a Gold match.
Yes it is, and especially during objectives it can be a real pain in the ass sometimes.

Dude If you scored 10k in silver you were carried. I dont want someone to block shots I need you killling things or at least damaging them. Sorry but you were carried and if thats what you can score you have no business playing anything above silver. I would have kicked you after that game.
Then you just don't understan the meaning of co-op my friend. Tell me honestly that I wasn't helping out the team? You know I did cause I was playing that kind of role in the match, I don't get a high score with that but I help my team earn the credits!

I must admit though, I'm a little worried about your garnered points. A score as low as 10K on Platinum is impossible to achieve. I've yet to see this in any of my matches. If you want to play a more supportive role on Platinum using the Paladin, I highly suggest investing points in Snap Freeze later on after you've leveled up a bit. At the very least, debuffing would be more helpful to your team than being a human shield. Melee frozen enemies afterwards and you'd garner enough points to pass the 10K mark.
Best of Luck.

Kicking you out of the lobby was a bit harsh. Sending you a note telling you to go back to Bronze was unnecessary given the fact that you helped the team to a degree.

As I said earlier, we didn't complete objective on wave 10 on that match where I got 10 k in score. If we would have made it to extraction I would have got some more points.

I understand that you are a troll on this board and you are a platinum leach or very bad player. So take your 10k and crawl your worthless butt back to bronze. Thats a bad score and you know it or you wouldnt have posted here. And yeah you werent helping I'll bet that you didnt even get a medal for 25 assists with that kinda score.

10k in a platinum? Yeah you were carried. Contrary to popular opinion: score does matter.
The support role is a lie. There is only damage output.
Through damage output I gain kills
Through kills I gain points
Through points I gain credits
Through credits, my packs are bought.
The DPS shall free me.

Only elitist ****s care that much about "carrying" you. Everyone gets the same amount of points at the end; save for medals points. The point is, it really doesn't matter. I don't whine about being top score in a horde game mode because it's like arguing with your sister over who has a better Mum.
Thanks buddy, at least some people in this thread agrees with me
