I've run into situations where I scored 40-60k on Platinum and ended up getting kicked before even hitting the lobby again. It happens best I can say is keep on playing and you'll get better. Find a class that you can get a serious amount of damage done and stick with it and before you know it you'll be hitting the top of the scoreboard even on Platinum.

Nobody could go an entire game (let alone a Platinum) and score 10k.

I've seen someone literally score 0 before. I think that's a more noteworthy accomplishment than scoring only 10k to be honest.

10k in a platinum? Yeah you were carried. Contrary to popular opinion: score does matter.

The support role is a lie. There is only damage output.

Through damage output I gain kills
Through kills I gain points
Through points I gain credits
Through credits, my packs are bought.

Thing is, I don't want a class with high DPS, I like to play support. I guess I just have to change the way I play my current classes I guess

I don't think that is possible, you do get points when your team complete an objective don't you?

I must admit though, I'm a little worried about your garnered points. A score as low as 10K on Platinum is impossible to achieve. I've yet to see this in any of my matches. If you want to play a more supportive role on Platinum using the Paladin, I highly suggest investing points in Snap Freeze later on after you've leveled up a bit. At the very least, debuffing would be more helpful to your team than being a human shield. Melee frozen enemies afterwards and you'd garner enough points to pass the 10K mark.

As I said earlier, we didn't complete objective on wave 10 on that match where I got 10 k in score. If we would have made it to extraction I would have got some more points.

I apologize, I didn't see that correction/addition. I only read your original post as copied below:

Seriously, I am getting very tired of hearing from randoms that I am getting carried. I have basically been playing this game since launch and even though I am not one of the best players out there I know I am a very good player.

Thing is, I usually play support roles and I play them in a way that benefits the whole team and not just myself. I can hold my own in a game on bronze and silver (haven’t solo’d them yet but again, it’s a co-op game) and on gold (mostly Firebase White and Geth) we reach extraction at least 75% of the time.

Today I played a Platinum match for the first time using my Paladin, I got about 10 k in score (map and enemy were not random so that’s why my score was so low) but I contributed by blocking enemy shots with my shield and also reviving people a lot. After the match I was kicked and got a message that I suck and that I should go back to bronze!!! 

Did another match again after that and this time I used my Asari Justicar and got over 20 k in points, got kicked and got another message! Did one more match with Salarian Engineer and got around 20 k, was kicked and got a message!!!

What people need to understand is that score really doesn’t matter, I am a good player and I was helping the team a lot, I didn’t save on my consumables as “bad” players do but instead I used all of my medigels and ops packs in all of my games. I would say that it is all the other players that just can’t comprehend the meaning of co-op? If I am helping the team by playing a support role like that, how in hell can they say I am getting carried?! Can someone explain this to me because I sure as hell can’t understand how that could be the case .

Advice: As others have done here before, post a thread asking for open minded people to join you in Platinum so you can get a better hang of it without the frustration of getting kicked all the time. A little confidence boosting can go a long way with how you play.

Arrogant people will be arrogant, and there will always be people who judge by your score - especially in Plat. If you weren't dying and getting revived during the matches, and really were providing cover/decoying/kiting for everyone, and reviving them a lot, then you probably weren't getting carried so much as handing the other players all the kills on a silver platter. Even so, and I'm not a Platinum player, it can be pretty hectic for the other 3 to feel like they have to take care of all the killing. I would say that you should learn how to provide support if that's what you like, while contribute to crowd control/killing at the same time.

If you cause no damage and do not interact with an objective at all, you can score 0 points.  Sometimes screwing around soloing, I'll go ahead and have my wife's account join in the lobby.  That way if I get any objectives done, she gets some credits.  Also if she's planning on playing, she can just jump in at the next wave when she's ready.  

Interestingly, when I've wiped and she's had 0 points, her account did not get any experience.  At all.  But she did get the credits.  If she causes damage to a single enemy, then she got full experience.

You can play defensively and STILL get high score. There is no excuses that you score lower than 50k in gold or higher.
