I have noticed the decline in the amount of players in multiplayer and i think it has alot to do with all the nerfing and balance changes that was occurring. People don't mind the balance changes when it just improves the game but when you go and NERF weapons that people love that caused a lot of negative comments and then the reactIon of people not playing anymore.

Now another thing is they need to think outside the box with new content and stay commited and continue to release more DLC packs with some new game modes, maps, weapons, enemies, and characters(like a prothean character or collectors on the enemy side). Anything is possiable and since it is a sc fi lore isn't an issue they can make anything work as long as they want to. If they continue to stay commited then I think multiplayer will be around and successful for a long time even with the release of other games.

More like its become too much of a grind to get all the UR weapons and it's the same thing over and over agin that kills any coop game after time

I dont think it has anyhthing to do with nerfing and buffing.

It's that after a certain time people just grt bored of a game and stop playing. It's natural.

I see the "decline" claim made repeatedly but I haven't seen anyone present evidence. How can you notice a decline? At any given time you have no idea how many people are actually playing. In Silver (and even Gold) I see lots of low N7 ratings with low ranked weapons, which indicates new players.

Nothing new. Every multiplayer game out there eventually loses players. Natural cycle. That said, I still never have to wait more than 20 seconds for a lobby to fill or a match to start.

People are maxing out their manifests. Once you do that....what's there to play for? People play a fairly monotonous game so they can unlock new weapons/chars. Once you remove the unlocks all that is left is the semi-monotony.

It's a great game but once you've 'beaten it' per se....you move on.

PvE can only last so long when you grind the same simple maps over and over ...and eventually you run out of character builds to try...then crazy builds...

some more height variation (apparently pretty hard with this engine) and PvP may save it...

Probably because only the people who play multiplayer for its own sake are left. Even the most obsessive Mass Effect fan would have found something else to do by now, and have no need to keep their Galactic Readiness topped off.

It's got nothing to do with the balance changes. In the end the ME3 MP was never a huge experience, just a side thing. It's amazing it's lasted 6 months tbh and I'd consider the Balance Changes to be one reason it has.

I'll agree with this statement. Every game has a lifecycle. Without an injection of new content that cycle grows shorter, faster.

A lot of different reasons.

1) A lot of good players have moved on to other things or gotten bored of the game.

2) A lot of terrible players who were propped up by missile glitching or overpowered weapons that were nerfed subsequently. The later is moreso a factor IMO because it takes the average players a while to figure out what has been changed in game. Not everyone follows BSN.

There is nothing wrong with nerfing overpowered weapons, that could actually help the player base. When everyone and their mother was using the Kyrsae/Infiltrator I stopped playing for a while because I could barely do anything in the game.

The only trend I ever notice is forum users posting about the number of players in decline on whatever multiplayer game they are playing at the time, followed second by forum posts entitled, why this game is dying etc etc.

That any game's playerbase will dwindle as time goes on, especially for a game of this nature?

Gawd, I'm sick of people making such a big deal of something that's part of any game's lifecycle. Then again this was clearly an anti-nerf rant in disguise.
