It's a basic wave survival game; that and the fact that all games have a shelf life. I finished Single Player twice and just come back for the Multiplayer. It's still fun for me though.

In short:

When I'm still needing Uncommon and Rare Gear and getting the above I pretty much question why I'm still wasting my time on the game.

The weak servers and frustration from the store.

If they ever nerf my lovely Asari Adept again, I'll be gone myself.

I suspect the community may decline rapidly on 9/18.

6month old game with RNG Progression...

Why play if nothing ever gets better or new and you just get more of what you already had and don't need???

I certainly think that most players are not quitting over silly nerfs, most probably aren't even aware of them really.

Simple:
We have weapons, we have maps and we have characters.

Do you know what is missing?
More game modes.

Board with horde mode most likely, going to games were MP is a bit more varied.

Reasons are many, but the passage of time affects interest in anything.

Because this game has no pvp and only 1 game type.

No challenge, no curve balls, no unique strategies, just figure out an enemy weakness and don't deviate from it.

The games 6 months old and the store is crap. Unless you want to cheat you have to put in way too much time to complete your manifest. Its also a horde mode after a while that is no longer fun. There are also more new games coming out. This summer was terrible for decent games being released. A large portion of the player base went back to school and are playing less. Some of the true diehards got sick of the nerfs. Over the next 2-6 weeks more games are coming out so more will leave.

Game's getting older. Horde mode can only hold people's attention for so long.

The store and "Rare" consumables.

Who wants to grind out gold matches for two consumables? Since the UR drop rate is so low, most people don't even bother.

It's no fun getting trolled every time you open a Premium Spectre Pack. (on my other account).

Normal attrition due to time.

That, and lack of a PvP and a story-based mission mode.
Also, ending haters. They grind people's gears.

This. Considering we only have a single mode to play with whose very basic design is already repetitive, I am fairly sure the MP was a huuuge success, not only for for ME series but also as a MP mode itself. Not many games with such limited MP variety can survive for half a year and still have a pretty decent playerbase across the platforms.

That said, I think player decline is currently at a high, due to new releases and some people leaving out of boredom due to repetitivity (try and say that fast three times Posted Image) and over here in GMT territory, it can be hard if not outright impossible to get a U/U/G lobby together when I try at unusual times, but overall, there's a plentiful playerbase left afaik.

Nothing unexpected - you can't expect a game to be played forever. I'll be back for the weekends, probably, and watch for new content, but ME3 is now a side game for me.

I still like the game as it is. I even don't have a problem with the store. But the long load times to even get into the main menu because of some double pass check, then multiplayer menu, the long seconds to access the store, and worse of all long connection times to the PROPER game of choice is taking its toll on me. If these waiting frustrations and the connection issues were improved, I will definitely enjoy logging into the game and playing it more.

I see the "decline" claim made repeatedly but I haven't seen anyone present evidence. How can you notice a decline? At any given time you have no idea how many people are actually playing. In Silver (and even Gold) I see lots of low N7 ratings with low ranked weapons, which indicates new players.

I'm gunna have to agree with Supa Dupa ParatrooperStan here. I've seen an increase of new players rolling on in, asking questions and the like. What Bio needs to do is come out with a ME MP game all on its own. Think of the possibilities.

More like its become too much of a grind to get all the UR weapons and it's the same thing over and over agin that kills any coop game after time

While not "the" reason, it playes a big role indeed.
