I play mostly on gold difficulty, and where AR's are suitable, i usually go for my Harrier mk.6.
I've recently gotten also the PPR mk.1 and Typhoon mk.2 but havent yet had the opportunity to test them out - any reason to pick any of them over the Harrier with such a large gap in upgrades?

He only got two URs, he got a PPR I and a Typhoon II.
As for your question, don't use typhoon it sucks a lot now. As for PPR, it has infinite ammo, and the highest DPS of any AR when charged, but since your Harriet is level 6, the Harrier would beat it for DPS. Basically, PPR has more ammo and can put out that high DPS for a longer burst than the Harrier.

Nice, too bad that Typhoon had to take the place of a potentially better UR. Just remember, extended mag and AP. kill everything Javik style.
I actually like the Typhoon, some. It's fun to use something different. But I've only had it for about a week, so the shininess hasn't worn off it yet.

I used the PPR for the first time yesterday. I drained the magazine and it took 20 seconds to recharge. WTF. Is this normal? And I mean literally 20 seconds or more. I spent half a wave running around Reactor sabotaging things or scumming grenades. Damn thing didn't come back until I blew an ammo pack at the beginning of the next wave.
From using it in SP and knowing other people who use it, the first rule is don't run out of ammo. The second is, don't do anything to interrupt the reload animation if you do. It's super fickle and can be easily disturbed. Toggling Destroyer mode on/of will fix it. Adrenaline Rush will too.

Dont drain it, wait until it goes to like 20 ammo and then stop and let it recharge. Using a clip pack doesn't give it ammo since it has infinite ammo. Extended mag is your best friend, along with some kind of AP mod/ammo or use AP mod with incendiary ammo. Just don't drain the entire clip, the recharge time is horrible plus running, throwing grenades and using a power resets the timer for the recharge. If you drain it, wait and don't do anything, until the numbers go up, then you can do whatever.

Fool around with the reload- I believe that switching weapons will also stop the reload.

Thanks! I hadn't realized all those things would delay the reload. I'm almost positive that I reset it with an ammo pack. Maybe just a coincidence. After that, I made sure to never drain it again.

You can try this human soldier build (I find it reaper oriented): http://narida.pytalh...0@0FECOC4E4@0@0ABjerre wrote...
First of all, congrats on landing 3 in such a short row of packs - it always feels good!

I chose 6 points in CS because sometimes I need a panic button. You may forgo it and max grenades (or whatever you want).
You can chose "headshot" in passive if you have good aim, but power is good too for grenades too. A good mix of both.
Take a backup weapon (pistol with ULM, I like the scorpion, good crowd control or a light SMG) and cyclonic modulators. With adrenaline rush, you can take quite a beating before falling, but this build means you have to stay a bit behind.
The key point is to max weapon damage and learn to use soft cover with this rifle as it needs to ramp up. Once you get the hang of it, bosses and mooks will melt. Remember to activate adrenaline rush once the beam is charged and release the trigger at around 50.

How do RoF bonuses interact with the PPR? Do they increase DPS, or just make you burn through the stream faster without stacking much damage? Seems like I've seen a thread around here somewhere indicating that RoF wasn't a good option with it.
It increased DPS but it means you can sustain the high DPS for a shorter period. Since the charge up happens after a certain time, not after a certain amount of ammo is used up. I believe it is 2 seconds, so withRoF bonuses, you'd burn through more ammo before the charge up. Better to not go for these. Magazine capacity forever.

You get a 4x damage boost after 50 rounds have been fired when constantly shooting with no pauses. The RoF bonuses make it faster to chew through those 50 rounds

on the side: Bioware has really screwed up these forums. If you really like a gun or class, of course you want to talk about it and share your thoughts. If you do that though, you run the risk of getting your favorite gun/class nerfed. That's a screwed up system.

Anyway, I love that rifle. Very fun to use, and works really great with a Destroyer spec'd for ammo capacity, equiped with a cyc mod IV. stand up, and destroy!
