Any one notice that the Quarians were shown with Environment Suits? Three hundred years ago on their homeworld, the Quarians did not wear suits. They only started wearing suits after a few generations on the flotilla.

Now if one is role playing Shepard and not metagaming, one can come to only one conclusion... the scenes are fake. Legion was manipulating you.

If one is metagaming... Bioware was lazy.

It's the same reason why Shepard is always using an M-8 Avenger or Predator Pistol, and why they always pull out their main weapon like an assault rifle.

The Geth indoctrinated Shepard. Everything you see from that point on is the result of the Geth manipulating Shepard. The final culmination is to see whether Shepard picks Destroy, dooming the Geth. If he does, the Geth fully indoctrinate him, because he cannot be trusted to work with synthetics.

I know Legion said that the consensus uses Shepard's memories of the Quarians. But a record is a record and shouldn't use Shepard's memory. Legion lied before this event. Shepard called Legion on the lies.

I know it's bioware laziness (Predator pistol and Avenger assault rifle), but when I played my canon renegon who is slightly paranoid this was one more reason not to trust Legion.

 The consensus memories are perceived as his own and then presented as such, so it can only go off of what Shepard is able to perceive. Without seeing any unmasked quarians, he can't experience a memory of them without the masks.

So if I've only seen a Quarian in an environment suit, but have a Getty image of Tali on my desk, I would have an idea that Quarians have a somewhat human looking face, but bird-like legs, and thus in the Geth consensus, when being presented with a digital representation of the events I'd only draw on the suited version of the Quarians, instead of the massive supercomputer having the capacity to present the Quarians in their full actual physical rendition. Right. I really believe that. No. It's not looking good for Legion right now.

But I do buy the Bioware laziness argument.

Memories =/= Records.

They are not presenting him a slide show. He has uploaded his memory into their collective brain, and he is using his own knowledge to decipher the information at hand.

The dialogue is also different if Shepard is in a romance with Tali, since he has seen an unmasked Quarian. Legion handwaves it.

Me? I don't. This is a role playing game. I'm just pointing out some weaknesses, and these are some plot inconsistencies. Of course I know that the explanation was a lame way for BW to get out of reskinning the Quarians for that segment and thus cutting costs.

I'm just role playing a particular Shepard, at the moment -- the mildly paranoid renegon (colonist/ruthless) infiltrator.

I had another one (earthborn/sole survivor, paragon adept) I played through who made peace.

Hey. The reason he doesn't want Shepard's memories of suitless Tali mixing in with the geth historical records should be obvious. That's a distraction Shepard frankly doesn't need right now.
