Will Bioware ever release a patch that makes us skip that gigantic long ass intro?

Yeah, I get it, the Normandy blows up. Can we skip all that, dialogue included and just get to the rebuilding phase? I'm sure it wouldn't even be a big thing for the dev's right. It's literally a button to skip cutscenes. I'm no programmer, but *gets shot*

In short, no, BioWare will not release any more patches. Sucks when you've seen it a dozen times, yes, but from their point of view it's now an old game and they've moved on to other things. I've a feeling I saw something somewhere that suggested a DIY modification that skips it is possible but I'm not sure. Personally I kick it off then go and make a cup of tea, come back, dialogue dialogue go fish the teabag out, and by the time I come back Miranda's whining about Shepard needing to get armour out of the locker.

Unless you're restarting the game everyday, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with this cutscene.

For me...ME2 takes about 20-28 hours to complete.

A 5 min (maybe?) long cutscene at the beginning that sets up the plot of ME2 shouldn't warrant a patch to skip...especially since it's such a big part of the game.

This is a very odd request in my opinion.

Basically...this is the same as asking for a patch to remove/skip every cutscene from the game...since you see each cutscene the same amount of times you see this cutscene for each playthrough...once.

Anyways...not to derail your thread...I always wished they would have a patch/dlc to change Ashley's appearance on horizon to match her ME3 appearance. It would just be a better setup...since ME2 takes place 2 years after ME...and ME3 takes place only 6 months after ME2. Would be better for her to have a drastic change after your "death" and 2 full years.

It only sucks when... you don't get your Shep looking right the first time and have to go back and edit their face :(

I can see your point but damn, for some reason that intro just pumps me up so much for the game i would never ever skip it! Just a brutal and amazing way to start the game! Love it!

We should have a skip option like MOST GAMES do. Especially since there's this bit where Miranda, I'm pretty sure, states she's never met Illusive Man or something along those lines. Can someone clarify that for me? I can swear she said something like that and yet she's standing in the room with him of his secret headquarters. So if I'm remembering correctly, that part is completely out of sync with what she says later in the game. No? Am I remembering correctly?

Don't recall her saying that, and certainly not in the intro as she's only in the beginning of it in the same room as The Idiotic Man. Her next appearance is after selecting class, face etc in the brief cutscene when Shepard starts waking up too early, and then again right after that over the intercom when you're in the game's first training level on Lazarus Station. I remember that later on she says something to the effect that face to face contact with TIM is unusual and that not many people get to be in the same room with him, which is close but not the same as saying that she'd never been in the same room as him either. Actually there's a third person in there with TIM and Miranda at the start of the intro - watch again and someone hands him what looks like the Mass Effect version of an iPad. All you see is a silhouette approaching and then a hand in close up, and it can't be Miranda as she's still in the background of both shots. I'd say probably not an early appearance of Kai So Bloody Superior Leng as the person's shape looks very feminine. Who *is* that?

Anyway, that's off topic. Yes, skip option for the intro would have been good. It's just over nine minutes to get to the character creation screens and being able to spacebar through that lot as you can with most ME2 cutscenes would beat sitting through it. But since any official mod is almost certainly never going to happen I'll stick to spending the time making cups of tea.
