Spoiler-free synopsis of the gameplay?
And does it add anything a la Shadow Broker? Is it "important" to play through, or would reading a quick synopsis be sufficient?

I own it but cant play it. Not because of technical problems but because anytime I think about Mass effect I end up on this website complaining instead of gaming.

You'll find out reaper backstory, go through 3 different planets with you going back to some place on the citadel after each planet. Adds nothing to the ending (like LotSB didn't) besides a couple lines. Each squadmate has new lines, even on the normandy after each mission.
I say it was really worth the purchase to me, and worth the purchase if you want reaper history or just more mass effect. If not, and you want a different ending, then no it's not.

spoiler free Synopsis: an Alliance R&D Branch is in charge of researching Myths about the Reaper, and they enlist Shepard to search for what they call "Leviathan", which they believe was the creature that destroyed the Reaper "Leviathan of Dis" centuries earlier.stevesyanks17hotmail.com wrote...

It is important if ou want to fully understand the Origin of the Reapers.
It Adds a few new weapons, some great missions, Weapons mods, and a severed head (Yes, a severed head)

I loved the original ending, so no problem there. I am just "morally" (gee, that sounds stupid) opposed to DLC. I've spent a total of $18 on DLC my entire life, and $10 was an accident.

Its worth it for the reveals and the gameplay. I enjoyed it on my "perfected" character and all other Shepards. You could watch it on Youtube and get the story but the gameplay is worth it for future play throughs.

Loved it. It's around 3 hours of good ME play on average pace. It is VERY significant lore-wise, the squad has full dialogues (unlike silent squad in ME2), there's a new small hub to investigate that wil be available throughout the course of the DLC and also important thing - the DLC is split into 3 mission + mini-hub. You don't have to do it all in one take, you can do some, then do something from the main game, then return to Leviathan plot etc.
TO me it was worth $10

Hmm, sounds pretty cool. One final question, but I am probably going to get this: I passed on Arrival because it didn't seem significant or long enough to me - how does this compare?
Thanks for all the answers.

Very good DLC in my honest opinion. Gameplay is a little weak, but the levels and and story is great.

as for long enough, I'd say 3-4 hours, depending on what you do during the "searching" portions.

it is short, (I got through it in less than 2 hours) and does nothing for the ending (except possibly make them worse). So it really depends on you. Did you like the ending? if yes then probably worth it (there are some large lore related revelations). If you are only lukewarm towards the ending then it is not worth it.

a standard fee for a standard DLC. Cannot tell you either way. Honestly. So I guess that is an answer to your post.
I liked it, but wished for more, but I always want more information in Sci Fi.

would have made more sense if it remained in the original game from the start, that way people would have accepted the ending a little bit better

It is them pretty much to me saying "We're Sorry" for the first release of endings, but also for 5-10 bucks it so worth the money. The story they tell even thought its a tad short is just as on par as Lair of the Shadow Broker. very much worth. Made me wanna play back through ME2 just to have a new characters perspective.

Also, unlike LotSB (or any ME2 DLC) the Leviathan DLC has full squadmate voice acting, even including a few love interest specific lines you bring said LI on the last mission of the DLC.

Nah, I just youtube'd it.
Full of autodialogue, Shepard being retarded, giant, moronic cuttlefish and failure in logic as usual with the Mass Effect universe nowdays.
