But so far most people it seems would prefer romances so i guess romance wins, as for ******-romances, i wonder is it legal that people are discussing about this so frequently.

I wasn't aware the moderation team had a bias against such discussion. Don't see why they would either, hence I doubt they do.Spicen wrote...

You'd be surprised. In most developed countries, homosexuals can even hold hands and kiss in public without being executed.Spicen wrote...

What biased garbage. If I said I was against combat being removed from Bioware games, would you rant about how "It seems like you only buy Bioware games to kill things"?hangmans tree wrote...
Do you know how this sounds? Most of you buy BW games because of romances. And thats it. Next thing we know we will get a date simulator, a new brand and title from Bioware, new rpg formulae to revitalize and reinvent a dying genre.

As for the USA, the only thing not legalised is marriage. The rest is fine.Spicen wrote...
I heard that USA were going to legalize the thing after next election. If thats true, it means its not legal yet, right?
I'd ask you to marry me if we weren't gay on the opposite ends of the spectrum =(Plaintiff wrote...

More to the point however, Thedas isn't the USA and BioWare isn't an American company either.

(at least I've always surmised you being male, otherwise your hand is being requested in jest!)
Well, I for one like when romances are ingame coz they are a kind of progression of the plot - meaning pc-npc grow fond of eachother (whatever the reason maybe) and NOT because 'we do it for mass appeal' lake its was done lately.KiddDaBeauty wrote...
My PCs usually end up romancing somebody, so I'd say yes, DA3 should definitely keep romances. I've been very happy to see more reactivity to romance lately too. Whereas nobody aside from my LI ever brought up the connection between the characters in the old games, other characters are now commenting, making jokes and teasing - not to mention a few scenes play out slightly differently depending on your choice of romance.
I think this is great. Romance is a huge thing in people's lives, and getting the opportunity to have our characters live through subplots such as these really strengthen their existence in the virtual world. Having other characters react makes it all feel even more organic.
It's a low cost, game length spanning subplot which serves to add characterisation to your own character and several major players in the character's world. Definitely zots well spent.
EDIT:Well, that's your interpretation.hangmans tree wrote...

I was originally adding a little clause at the end of my post saying it's telling of how people who generally do not enjoy romance content perceive those who do, when I felt the need to put something like "not that this feature should take up anywhere near the majority of the resources or anything." I didn't write that however since I figured the post was fine on its own without a silly disclaimer. Seeing your post after I originally hit Submit, perhaps one was needed.
I'll give you a cookie if you find me a single mention of Jesus Christ in either Dragon Age game; or England, or France, or Sweden, or Spain. Likewise I don't remember any Qunari in my history books - you get the picture, I'm sure. Thedas is not medieval Europe, it's a separate setting with its very own parameters.Spicen wrote...
Well thedas is a middle age country right? I swear i heard somewhere that the church forbade such things.
Funny thing is that Hawke and his mate seems to be the only homos in the entire Thedas
Cool beans, even though that leaves me with a ring unclaimed... *grumbles*Plaintiff wrote...

I don't understand what you mean. Please tell me more. The only "mass" thing I can think of is the amount of LIs in ME3 (12, if memory serves?) which led to most of the romances sadly not receiving a lot of dialogue content. But I don't think that's what you referred to.hangmans tree wrote...

Animation is difficult. Animating two separate models to function together is an outright nightmare.
You can usually get away with not having by-centimeter accuracy when a two handed sword slices somepony in two since the animation will look good regardless. But when people are locking hands and kissing etc, you can't have people putting their hands through their partner's and/or have them kissing noses.
Well whatever was happening in DA:O certainly wasn't any sort of sex I ever heard of.Wulfram wrote...

Dragon Age 2's scenes are only sex scenes by very straight laced standards.

I don't need to see the sex onscreen, and indeed, I would rather not, if it's going to be an awkward, clumsy, unnecessarily long montage of positions.
I think the scenes in DA2 are a vast improvement, at least in the way that the character models move together, and I prefer it when each character has personal scenes, rather than DA:O, where everyone gets pretty much the same thing.
