 So I restored my BG files and was ready to resume Vaquen my dwarven fighter in EasyTutu. But when I clicked to load Vaquen I got this message:
Posted Image
However, there is no time to respond as the game crashes a few seconds later. Also, EasyTutu won't even start unless I had the ToB disc so what is it talking about? And all my installs are full installs.

This is the relevant portion of my baldur.ini in the EasyTutu directory (I think):

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\\Games\\BaldursGateTutu\\
CD1:=C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\CD1\\
CD2:=C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\CD2\\;C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\CD2\\;C:\\Games\\BaldursGateTutu\\CD2\\
CD3:=C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\CD3\\
CD4:=C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\CD4\\
CD5:=C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\CD5\\

This is a screenshot of the games directory, and another of the BGII - SoA directory.

I notice a CD1: reference in the INI but there is no such directory! I even uninstalled and reinstalled BG 2, no CD 1 directory gets made. I think maybe this is the problem, but what is EasyTutu wanting? I don't know.

The only thing different from how it was before is that before format of the drive, the path was c:\\games\\Black Isle\\BGII - SoA\\ but now not black isle. EasyTutu is the same directory name as it was before and at the exact same level C:\\games.

Help! Vaquen would like to continue his no-reload...

I haven't got EasyTutu installed at present but would expect the ini file to be similar to your BG2 verson. At a guess something like the below?

CD1:=C:\\Games\\BaldursGateTutu\\English\\;C:\\Games\\BaldursGateTutu\\Data

In my case I have multiple directories with EasyTuTu and one with clean installs (BG1, BG2). So my ini looks like that:

[Alias]
HD0:=E:\\Baldus's Gate Tutu SCS\\
CD1:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD1\\
CD2:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD2\\
CD3:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD3\\
CD4:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD4\\
CD5:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD5\\

or:

[Alias]
HD0:=e:\\Baldus's Gate Tutu New\\
CD1:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD1\\
CD2:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD2\\
CD3:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD3\\
CD4:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD4\\
CD5:=E:\\BGT TuTu Stuff & CleanInstalls\\BGII - SoA_ToB Clean Install\\CD5\\

The only difference is aliases to the appropriate TuTu folders, and all CDs refers to the same directories in *clean install* folder (you can safety delete an extra enties in CD2). And of course there is NOT CD1 directory in my SoA/ToB clean install directory (I think it refers to the game's *root* directory in that case). So, I presume, you can try some kind of no-cd in your SoA install (I have one if you need it).

Having installed the latest version of EasyTutu it points to the original game folder - the first of these exists, the second doesn't. CD1:=H:\\bg2\\English\\;H:\\bg2\\CD1\\

So you could try CD1:=C:\\games\\BGII - SoA\\English\\

@Gate: I have not \\English\\ directory in my installs. And Corey haven't it as well as you can see from his screenshot.

Did you install BG2 onto your computer again after cloning that Vaquen game?

You still have the save game files any way so I'd re-install bg1 & 2 (backup the save games first if they have active games in them) then ran the easyTutumanager.exe to make tutu1 whitch will fix your registry... from there you can clone into tutu2 & 3 etc then just copy the WeiDU.log for Vaquens' mod list (installing them in the same order) and finally copy contents of the old save, ScrnShot, portraits and override folders from Vaquen into the new tutu1.

Doing it this way will insure that the files match up and avoids any lost data because you keep the old files, at least untill the games is back up and going... at that point you can remove all but the old save folder if you need the space. :wub:

Yes, I did re-install BG 2 after format of my laptop. I knew that would be necessary for DLLs, registry entries, etc. My post also said I uninstalled and reinstalled as well...

If CD1 is the problem I could point to my SoA directory as Gates suggested and see if the error goes away....though the EasyTutu directory is unmodified (e.g., this is how it was before), so it's a bit strange to see it complain when the same setup before it was happy.

If the tweaking doesn't work, I will just have to re-install Tutu from scratch as USSNorway mentioned.

Thanks for everybody's tips, will work on them tonight when I get home from work (about 8 hours from now).

Quick Update: Well tweaking didn't work. However, the reinstall of Tutu went pretty fast (probably because I don't have any mods). I can now load Vaquen! He is now alive and well! Thanks all for your tips.
