Bioware offices just had an infestation of biotic doom monkeys.
They're currently engaged in bloody trench warfare against said monkeys.
So next week will be quite busy for them if they can even survive the weekend.
At least that's what I gathered from that status update.

Derek, this is a really important question.
What's more dangerous, Biotic Doom Monkeys or Tech Doom Monkeys? Only you can solve this debate.

I think the only question I have for BioWare right now is,"Is it true that you feed missile glitchers to NPlewes?"

Derek is it true that NPlewes is really Chuck Norris?
Edit:
LOL He is Chucks Daddy right?

Hypothetically, if there were a thing called a Non Disclosure Agreement, then any future work by the studio for any of the franchises would fall under it until an official announcement is made by marketing. They always get first kick at thos things.
Sorry folks. Mum's the word on what may or may not be.
Meanwhile, I must return to the Arcturus System for debrief.
Cheers
Hypothetically, if there were NO such thing as a
Non Disclosure Agreement what would you say then?
hehehehheh ;-)

What I must know, Derek, are you willing to accept the one and only Biotic God into your life and love him with all you are?
Protip: We have strawberry milk and cookies and the drugging is only mildly nauseating.

Derek, Have you been reading the feedback regarding the survey by any chance? Are you responding to the requests for more of a developer presence in the forums, or are we your balls of yarn for the day, and you are just toying with us in your free time?
Of course devs do not want a negative experiance; however the shouldn't just ignore all critcism on the forums and lavish in all the praise, or they will never be able to adapt and evolve to fit situations.
Just because a thread 0praises bioware dies not mean it is a constructive argument; just because a thread has a negative view doen not mean it is not a constuctive argument.
To keep your fans you need to accept both negative and positive criticisms

There's a difference between positive and negative criticism and people just being tools- which is the point Derek was making, I believe.
A discussion can be critical of a product without devolving into hysterical name-calling. When it gets to the point where terms like 'Biofail' are being tossed about you've lost pretty much all chance at productivity and intelligent dialogue and the whole exercise becomes pointless.
The developers gain nothing from that (beyond irritation, I imagine), and we as gamers fare likewise.
It is entirely possible to make your genuine complaints- even ones you passionately feel are in need of being addressed urgently, or even game-breaking- in a manner which is constructive and, human nature being what it is, it is probably far more likely to get a response.

Agreed but it comes down to how those criticisms are presented. We take all constructive criticism as...well, constructive whether good or bad.
We also take uncalled for comments and desctructive negativity at face value. A constantly negative, destructive individual will never get a response from anyone here...except in the form of a ban.
The form of more developer comment i would want is on the thought out threads, not the spam/trollnig ones.
They need a biiger prescene; many of the superb threads here have gone basically unnoticed by bioware

And, if we work together, given time, we can begin to see more of a developer presence. I would also like to see this happen. Right now, we have a lot of nervous devs peeking out of their hovels.
This can be solved with a BioWare/Fan BBQ & volleyball tournament

Developers are people too. The last thing they want to do is have people; telling them their job; telling them they suck; trying to cram their game-design / balance philsophy down their throats; or generally being jerks by saying things like, "BioFail can't patch worth a crap!", etc and the list goes on.

BSN is meant to be a place for civilized discussion. You can disagree with each other
I'm going to disagree in a civilized manner, then. I feel these two quotes are contradictory. Generally, any criticism doesn't seem to be recieved well. That's just human nature, so I don't really blame the devs. Also, the player base in general is a nasty bunch of jerkoffs.
In addition, I feel I've not seen devs interact very much at all with suggestions on balance philosophy. A question is asked here and there and players flood the thread with advice or preferences, but the responses seem a bit spotty. I've not been posting for long but I've lurked a bit and your statement is mildly frustrating. We, the players, spend much more time playing the game than you guys. We also pay to play it wheras you lot get payed to make it. Now, that's not to say I want you to implement even a single player suggestion on balance or design. I'd just like to see more discussion on it. A lot more. It may be entirely too much to ask as well, I don't know your schedules, but I'd love to see two or three solid hours a week of just banter regarding balance and what players don't like/do like between the players and the devs.
And hey, maybe it happens and I just don't see it.
Also, as "civilized" as this post is, this is me frustrated with other things and it's just coming out here. I'm usually much more mellow and admittedly a general snark machine.regardless,
Testo

It will be Jessica Merizan, Chris Priestly, and the rest of the community management team that will be reviewing the surveys.
For my part, when I am not actively working on one project or another, I flit about the MP forums bringing joy and happiness to all the good boys and girls.
Incidently, the survey has gone around internally as well.
If people really want to see more of a dev presence then, here's a tip:
Developers are people too. BSN is meant to be a place for civilized discussion. You can disagree with each other, certainly, but there is no reason for anyone to be a jerk about it. Although BSN's medium is the internet, this is supposed to be much more civil than the rest of the internet. I equate this to being our home and you are all guests in it. If you urinate in the potted plant, then you will be escorted out. On the same note, if you are an angry, uncontrolled individual, then you will likewise be escorted off the premises regardless of whether or not you have outright broken any of the rules. No one wants to engage that sort of person. No matter the excuse.
We have customer service personnel who specialize in dealing with irate individuals over disputes. As devs, we aren't customer service people. We would like to have more open discussions, but in much more controlled and civilized environments.
Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that no dev wants a negative experience engaging people on the forums but I think everyone can agree, at this stage, BSN does not have the safe feel it once did. Jessica, Chris, and the other BSN managers would like to see that happen again.
Devs can be a shy lot. If they feel threatened, they will scurry back to their dark, safe, cavernous environments, and eat chocolate, cookies, chips, and other comfort foods until the scary things go away before venturing out into the light again.
I am certain none of this comes as a surprise to anyone but, there you have it. We need to make this a safe environment in order for more dev sightings to occur.
Maybe not what you wanted to hear but, c'est la vie.
Cheers
2 things:
1. I get that, and I usually end up being a BW apologist on some of those things, like when people talk about bugs and whine about how long fixes take. I avidly avoid the story forums, because everyone there seems to just be filled with inconsolable rage towards Bioware, and it's exhausting just to see. The problem is, because this forum does exist, there's sort of a hidden sense, maybe an implication, that Bioware will be somewhat responsive to its fanbase when our concerns are voiced. When we don't hear anything at all about bug fixes and we don't even really KNOW what BW's balance philosophy is, it's sort of disheartening. I also get why you guys would want to stay out of certain discussions, because the fanbase is probably GOING to argue, and sometimes, it might be best for us all if we don't have the chance. Just explaining our side of things.
2. Where are the potted plants AT, anyways? I've been holding for hours.

Shouldn't it at least be better than the Carnifex considering that the Eagle is much harder to get?
