I really like when devs share with us, mainly when there is a nice talk like in this thread, this is what we need more here, the problem is that not everyone is capable of hold a civil conversation when they dissagree with something.
I like the civil talks, because I feel that is always possible to get into an agreement if everybody talks in the correct way.
Derek, I will be glad if you answer this, if not, I perfectly understand your position.
Do devs take in consideration the comunity ideas for new content?, I mean, we have users here with very good ideas, do bioware take those ideas in consideration or devs just work in what they think?
I do not know all the ins and outs in the gaming industry thus far. I can say, however, that there can be legal issues if we utilize an original idea from a fan. As much as someone would like to "give us permission" there are issues still. I believe that is something for the legal department to answer. Contests have been held by companies to "pick the brains of fans" and those are usually covered by mountains of legaleze paperwork.
That is usually why employees can't really say much more than, "this is a good idea but could be hard to implemement, etc." That is not to say these ideas shouldn't be shared among fans. Often, good ideas get validation and start with fans offering advice and or critical review of them. When you get enough good ideas together, indie games start
I believe like-minded fans start out discussing their ideas on their favourite forums before venturing out into the game design business.

But say someone predicted, long before development, a DLC and gave a very similar story line to the story that the actual DLC gave?Derek Hollan wrote...

That is hypothetical of course and I'm sure it won't ever happen but I've just always wondered.

Derek, are you able at all to answer my question on hunter mode? Or is that something you aren't able to discuss? Just really sucks not being able to personally get the most out of a class due to a physically debilitating aspect of a skill.
Not the answer you want to hear, but there are no plans to change Hunter Mode. I am sorry about that. I can only recommend adjusting brightness and contrast settings. Not the answer you were looking for, I know
Cheers

Derek, is there a specific reason (yes or no is fine) that you do not utilize community members as moderators. Not full MOD's, of course, but a team of members that can handle some of the smaller things like closing repetitive topics, warning members when things might get too heated, the ability to hand out short term bans for flagrant offenses. I know this will be followed with posts of what a horrible idea it is, but I have seen it work on other forums and it takes a lot of pressure off the BW community managers. The forums here have anyways seemed a bit out of control.
We use quite a few non-staff volunteer moderators actually. 5 of the mods for this forum alone are not staff, just people we approached who were helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, etc and asked if they wanted to help us as moderators.
Could I suggest a once-every-two-weeks 'Ask the Dev' stickied thread? It's present on another forum I partake in and it goes down REALLY well. Developers/Staff who feel they can answer certain questions asked chime in with a response and questions that can't be answered usually get left in the way side or answered with a generic response such as "That's not an article I'm able to discuss at this time."

But in what they should work is in the balancing before relase, because sometimes happend that we get some taste of a weapon like the original Typhoon and then PUFFF, nerf! xD. Sometimes that's a little frustrating, I don't talk for my own case, but most of the players here get angry for that.
I don't know how the team test the thing before relase, but i've seen that pattern before, X day of relase 3 weapons:
-Everyone happy the first day.
-First threads about how OP is X weapon the second day.
-Waves of threads about how broken X weapon ( or character ) is.
-First balance changes after relase we have a nerf
I think the guys need some help with testing weapons, and if that is the case here in this forum ( not talking about me ) there are lot of players that would love to contribute in testing, the team can choose the players they think will drive a weapon until its maximun capacity, and in that way see if the weapon or character is overpowered or not.
But anyway, you guys, all of you do a great work.

Reading between the lines on this -
If the Devs are playing the game then they would be having similar experiences to players so you would think that our comments and views (sometimes more like demands and complaints) on gameplay weapons, balance etc are in some ways like preaching to the converted. We have seen quite a few changes that were 'predicted' or requested by forum users implemented because they made sense and could be done without too much drama. I expect that a major patch was going to be needed to address the multiple concerns . Looking forward to seeing the results of the patch.

Very Angry.......was one of the best guns in the game next to the Claymore. Now the Gun is ruined. It's not even UR in my catergory since it's a POS now.

Derek, this is a really important question.
What's more dangerous, Biotic Doom Monkeys or Tech Doom Monkeys? Only you can solve this debate.
Tech doom monkeys are clearly the greater danger, as tech powers take out shields quite efficiently. Also, when they throw their electrically charged poo, they can set off some powerful tech bursts.
