I really appreciated hearing from some of the devs about a lot of the stuff I've read on the forums, and I hope that this is a sign of things to come (forum wise not DLC announcement wise;))

Again, very understandable. However, I must say that it is kind of in a bad place. It's too light for the casters, meaning that power is unnecessarily compromised. Most/all casters have a 50-weight limit once they've started speccing themselves, meaning that the Eagle and Carnifex are both be regularly competing over the same role as a caster primary. I suppose you could say that some classes whom don't spec into carry weight for some reason would probably see more use of the Eagle, but that's a rare path to spec into indeed.

But I'm not asking to give it that much. Could it be possible to give the Eagle a 10% damage increase to put it up to the Phalanxes power? I ask for 10% because in it's full-auto nature, you tend to miss more shots than with a more controllable rate of fire, plus you get smitten down by armor, which is a little bit of a problem for some of the casters whom lack a reliable method of Biotic Explosions (i.e non-grenade-mod Drell adepts, non-self-bursting techies). The primary competition for the Eagle is the Phalanx, and despite its much lower rarity, the phalanx will plain out-power the Eagle and keep on target to prevent loss in damage.

It's obviously your call, but I think that what is the "upgraded" Phalanx (the Eagle) should be better than the original.

Of course, once the heavy barrel is released for pistols, it will likely see a lot more use as a caster weapon (it should just go over the weight limit, but only by 25%), however, it'll still be competing with the Uncommon rarity Phalanx, which share that weight but it much easier to get to level X to start taking advantage of the setup.

P.S. In response to something Derek said somewhere around page 10/11/12: it really saddens me that a dev said likeliness of implementing ideas of fans is unlikely due to legal reasons. If it's a concern of IP, I imagine this is complex but to point out bullet point examples and why I agree/disagree:

Character designs and such, when a fan goes to the extent to even draw 2D images or make 3D CAD-esque models: I get why not, this is going into artistic integrity, however if you can get it into writing as an agreement, I imagine there should be an easy bypass SOMEHOW.

Ideas for new characters utilizing ingame IP. No fan should have ANY legal argument claiming infringement when THEY are creating "IP" within, and using someone ELSE's IP. And On top of this: If you're just stating a gun type or role like a supression-fire type gun (revenant/typhoon) which directly fills a combat style role, I really don't get how one could claim infringement. I'm sorry, did you invent suppression-fire weapons? So the IRL SAW weapon line, that was you? AWESOME. Wait, it wasn't? How about assault rifles. 20-40 round clip, fast fire, decent damage, lots of destruction over time? Did you invent AR's? Might I point out... oh... Doom, Quake, CoD, Battlefield, IRL guns such as the AK-47, the M16(insert lots of numbers and such after, cuz lots of alternates and updated/improved versions have been made of the M16); I mean M16A1's - You can't claim rights to a vague, already-existent non-descript concept.

If you "invent" a class & powers: I'd disagree that you have any claim, again. So you invented salarians, hunh? *Insert condescending Willy Wonka meme, here* How about Biotics? Incinerate? Overload? I don't think anyone can claim rights to IP they designed that falls under IP someone else already copyrighted and such. (Off-track: I don't want to see too many, if any more, classes with Overload, as I'm pretty sure it is the most reoccuring power in the game, a lot of classes/characters have it available)

I could be wrong on these legal reasons, I s'pose b/c I'm not a lawyer, but it makes me have a sad that someone might've made laws which can cause cases like these to get in the way of contributing to their favorite games, esp. when the developers make such huge deals about how they love fan input.

We do still play often.  The live team and the gameplay team make this a priority to stay current.  So, yes, often in a balance meeting if someone brings up a weapon or build, the folks on the team most familiar with those weapons or builds will speak up regarding the overall feel of them and will support balance change insights.

I've heard that a Bioware Dev tweeted or posted that the DLC will be out this month, but I've never seen such a tweet/post. Then again, I don't have the time to go looking through the entire forums or tweet pages. Can you confirm this?

I doubt it's true...
If that were the case, a lot of humans would be talking about it all day.

But also we have the possibility that the dev have deleted the tweet before somebody could take a screenshot.

The way the devs have interacted with onetrueshot in this topic make me think either

I believe they're just having fun! Anyways, there's no way to tell wether OTS is telling the truth or not, so if he IS then...mission accomplished! We've been trolled..

Agreed but it comes down to how those criticisms are presented.  We take all constructive criticism as...well, constructive whether good or bad.

We also take uncalled for comments and desctructive negativity at face value.  A constantly negative, destructive individual will never get a response from anyone here...except in the form of a ban.

The form of more developer comment i would want is on the thought out threads, not the spam/trollnig ones.

They need a biiger prescene; many of the superb threads here have gone basically unnoticed by bioware


And, if we work together, given time, we can begin to see more of a developer presence.  I would also like to see this happen.  Right now, we have a lot of nervous devs peeking out of their hovels.

 I wonder why all this silence, I don't see it can be good in a marketing perspective. I mean, people get crazy when something is leaked, and people get excited again about the game. One reveal here, another there would keep people playing, waiting for the next move..

I believe OTS is right about most everything he has predicted. The volus might be a little too much to hope for though. IDK that I've wanted anything more than a rotund, red sand enhanced, biotic god in MP though.

Ok.  At the risk of beginning rumours, I will say Eric has just agreed to look at it again.  Please, please PLEASE! Do not get your hopes up on that.  But, yes.  The fact that it takes longer to level is a good arguement.

The damage to me is fine, I mean, yeah it could be better, but what I hate the most is the recoil. Give it little/no recoil FIRST, and then see how people react, then give it a bit of a damage boost if needed. In SP (I know that things can't be the same here as there) the recoil was so negligible that I loved it on my vanguard.

Eagle should be be better than the Carnifex, and about equal or better than an equal level Talon (Talon would still be better at close range obviously). My Talon X still gives me a 200% recharge so saying that the Eagle is balanced by it's weight is pretty much proven wrong there considering I can use the Talon on my casters without any recharge penalty.

So many dev replies! How have I missed this thread? All these lovely walls of texts <3 Please don't let this thread die!

I hear we have more MP DLC in wait to fiddle with, looking very much forward to it. Can you say anything about the size of the next coming MP DLC (whenever it might be) compared to the previous MP DLC's you've released (resurgence, rebellion, earth) as far as content goes?
