Well, isn't this interesting. I got an email saying "Thanks for registering your DAO:DDE, Ulric!" So I got all excited and tried to put my registration code in again. No dice. It still thinks someone else jacked my code. What the hell is this crap?

I called EA support an hour ago and they issued me a new key to use for their EA Download manager. So give them a call and keep pestering them!

This has nothing to do with this site - moving to appropriate forum.

Finally got this fixed by calling EA directly. They gave me a new key and added it to my EA account so that it authorizes my game when i launch it through impulse. Use the number listed earlier: 866-543-5435 and don't let them push you off the phone until they issue you a new key and add it to your EA account.

Yeah I bought it on impulse and that's exactly what happened... when I first launched the game the launcher said to go to the site to redeem my codes. So I did and while I was there I registered the game too... now it won't authenticate :(

I contacted Stardock and was told it's and EA server issue so I've submitted a ticket with EA support about this and I'll see how that goes....

I have always considered Bioware to be one of the best game companies but this seems like a case where they were so concerned about people not pirating their game that they weren't even ready for paying customers to use this retarded system they created. I feel really disillusioned with them and this will make me think twice about purchasing Mass Effect 2.... This has also really made me have doubts at this point whether they will be capable of running Old Rebublic and the massive server infrastructure that will require properly.

It's not Bioware with this ridiculous DRM over-protection, it's EA.

that's a good point. this much trouble with a simple authorization plan makes me shudder to think what will happen with an MMORPG.

Check out http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php what is linked or not to your account as far as DLC is concerned.

Well, this is an EA thing not an Impulse thing because I registered on the social site first and then later in game.

I can see my entitlements, I can see ME2 Registered for PC in my games list here at Bioware.

Can't play the game. Took my money, gained hair pulling a cussing in return. Thanks! ;-)

When launching the game (downloaded via Impulse), I log in with the email address I use here to activate, says the game cannot be activated. When I put in the serial number manually, it says the number is already in use. TO NOTE: I "registered" the game within Impulse FIRST, which uses a different email address. However, as noted above, I also see this game registered with Bioware under the same email address I use for EA (of course). Although, going to EA I do not see a way to see my registered games.

This entire user experience is beyond ludicrous.

Spending half my Sunday to play a game only to be kicked in the nuts by EA/Bioware/Impulse, etc...has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It, WITHOUT QUESTION, seems someone (ahem... EA) has spent FAR more time on trying to get your money/make sure you don't pirate, than actually ensuring you get to play the game you purchased online.

To note... when registering the game at EA, there is no "Mass Effect 2 PC Download", like there is for Mass Effect... which forced me to register it as a regular "Mass Effect 2 PC".

Sorry, I'm just so blinded with rage right now at this entire debacle. Seeing how prevalent it is on the internets solidifies my assessment.

Horrifyingly inept by all parties. Sorry.

"Read this First" sticky (DAO)

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/2836375

Please submit your own individual request for assistance, and stop digging up such terribly dead old corpses as this one. Yes, the forum's own search is a disaster. That's the way it's been since the beginning, and no improvement has ever been promised, so if nothing shows up newer than a year ago, you need to use a for-real, professional quality search, which includes both Google and Yahoo.

Just add the site: redirector and it works great:

site:social.bioware.com

Hmmm.  I see that I wasn't being as complimentary as I might have been.  Will you be more likely to follow through if I add a "Thank You" at the end?

If so, then here it is.

Thank you.
