Definately not the best game in the world, at least not in a world where Red Dead Redemption, Half-Life 2, Mario Galaxy, Bioshock, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Psychonauts, the Portal series and Metal Gear Solid 3 exist.

That said, it's still very compelling, a lot of fun to play and has some amazingly well done moments. It also does a masterful job of calling back to the previous games, the DLC and even the Expanded Universe. The pacing, story and dialogue was incredibly well-written, give or take a few notorious moments and I like how they can make our 3 new squadmates be a burly human marine, a sexy robot lady and a Day-One DLC Dick Head and still make them really compelling, cool and likeable.

How could it be one of the best games ever made when it's to worst game in the trilogy? In fact for me it's the worst game Bioware has ever made.

This is probably closest to capturing my opinion I've seen in this thread.

I've stopped thinking of the games individually because they are essentially telling one (long) story focussed on the actions of a single protagonist. As has been pointed out in many of the posts above, all of the games have their individual strengths and weaknesses but collectively they present the single most accomplished gaming experience to date (regardless of the percieved faults). Accomplished both in terms of raw technicality, art direction, music, (voice) acting, writing...there is nothing comparable to date that has this scope and ambition. Capturing the gaming community's imagination and passion with a single game is a difficult feat, but to do this with a trilogy is a monumental task that few studios could even template, never mind achieve.

No.
That particular title belongs to Mass Effect 2.

I agree with this.
ME2, Witcher 2, Deus Ex HR, and Red Dead Redemption are up there

Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games ever made, even with all its flaws and missed opportunities.

Mass Effect 3 with all its flaws and missed opportunities is barely a game.

To think co-founder of Bioware would say ME3 is their best game yet...madness!

Barely a game? Lolwut?

ME series has to be the best trilogy IMO. Each game had flaws, but together they are pretty damn great

Don't bother, Cash. Blue is right. Blue is ALWAYS right. And even if you produce evidence proving him wrong, Blue is somehow still right. (Speaking of which, Blue, you never did respond to the source links to your much-disliked Wiki article. Are you going to claim that the original articles are incorrect, too?)

Ignorance will only cause more ignoarnce, which is what you're doing.

Name one single time when you've admitted you were wrong. Name one single time when someone has produced evidence showing you to be wrong, and you admitted it. Blue, I'm sorry and I'm not trying to be nasty, but you are a LOUSY debater! Half the time you respond to an imaginary argument instead of what the person actually wrote! And no, I have never seen you alter your argument to accept new facts.

there is no point arguing with blueprotoss

Debating isn't insulting.  It sounds like you don't want people to enjoy talking about differences for once.

No, that is ME2's title.

you mean that glorified side-story? Lol

Thanks for the reminder! You just pointed out ANOTHER of ME3's writing flaws! So you'd think that the last part of a trilogy should be built upon the foundations of the two stories that came before it, right? Particularly considering just HOW MUCH story was created in the middle part? Hmm, apparently not. To be fair, ME3 only invalidated most of ME1, while ME2 got both invalidated AND turned into a side-story. *sigh*

Ironically flaws aren't always a negative just like how they ren't always a positive.  ME3 was the end of Shepard's story while ME1 was the beginning and ME2 was the middle.  You dn't get what you always want especially when ME is played by milions of people.

best game ever is ridiculous in my opinion.
so many flaws. so much bad writing, even ending aside.

so much cut, so much streamlined. its a ****ty game. compare two those 2 that came b4
and in no way best game ever. unless you compare it to something like tetris
lol

To be fair you could say this to any game in a franchise especially whith ME1 and ME2.  Nothing is perfect thus perfection is a dream.

This is counterproductive when you're when your biggest point about ME3 is actually ME2

If thats the case then why did some abandon their hatred for ME2 since they expected way too much out of ME3 for being the end of Shepard.

Agreed.  Every game has their own strengths and weaknesses even when its an individual basis in a series.  Personally people are better off focusing on a series as a whole instead of nippicking at a subatomic level.  I loved ME1 the most and liked ME2 the least yet I can still enjoy the balance that supplies ME3.

I love AC but the story blows. A high schooler with an "important moments in history" book could have written it.

1. Find important historical event.
2. Posit Templar conspiracy behind it.
3. Posit important historical figures were either Assassins or Templars and frame game's story around those characters.

The only dialogue/plot moments worth anything are the Desmond/Lucy banter lines in Brotherhood.(note: haven't played Revelation. Hoping for more Desmond/Lucy)

Bioware wanted to make an "open" game for people who didn't play ME1 and ME2, and because of this they screwed their old fans.

So ME1 and ME2 were squarely better.

How is that when each of the ME games are "open" for anyone to play.  To say that the old fans are screwed wih you're ony one of those doesn't override the opinions of others.

In fact, I'm not sure to be the "only one" to think that playing ME1/ME2 or not, that doesn't change anything in ME3.
But after all, if that's hurt you, just read "So ME1 and ME2 were squarely better." ;)

Definitely the game that left the worst taste in my mouth out of any BW game.
