All my main reasons have been already posted by most of the other forumites.

Game Informer was one of the publications to give it a perfect 10.OzzyJack wrote...
I keep hearing about 75 perfect scores, but who gave these perfect scores? Anyone know? As I'm genuinely curious about this statement.
I know that ME3 scored well in nearly, if not all the reviews I've read, but never have I come across a perfect i.e. 10/10 score.
Also, ME3 is for me a very much the weak link in the trilogy and no more than a 7/10 IMO, but to each their own.
Before you go ahead and bash them for being a mainstream publication, you should know they rarely ever give out perfect scores....
They've only given out 2 in the last year, and ME3 was one of them
which actually says a lot about Game Informers reviewers. Also Euro gamer gave it the perfect score if i remember correctly.
They should hang their heads in shame.
amazon didnt give refunds on the game for nowt.

Should not a "Masterpiece" stand on its own?
Just by you telling us to "Look past ALL the flaws" that right there removes it from the realm of "masterpiece" almost outright.
There were good moments in ME3, but finding one diamond in a mountain of coal, does not change the mountain of coal into diamonds.
Kai Leng was one of the dumbest villains I've ever seen outside of parody anime. You know what, **** that. He IS the dumbest villain I've ever seen. And every sequence with him is ****ing retarded. They literally make every character a moron so Kai leng can look like he actually knows what the hell he's doing.
The Illusive man broke character horribly throughout the story. It would have been fine if it was gradual, but this was just Boom. He's against you completely now even though his whole song and dance in ME2 was to beat the reapers.
Apparently, x number of months with a blown up, destroyed Reaper EMBRYO is enough to indoctrinate him completely.
Mordin was a highlight, so was the length of Rannoch.
Outside of that, the game is riddled with lore inconsistencies, logical fallacies and skirts the edges of established rules of writing to the point of damn near breaking them.
If it would have drawn to a trully satisfying conclusion it would have been able to recover enough to ACTUALLY grant the merit of the "look past the flaws" argument, because yeah fine, some hiccups along the way but it brought us a firm wrap up to the series we've followed for half a decade.
But with the ending it HAS because I'm including the EC here, the thing is a "Masterpiece" in the same way an Ork Gargant Titan stacks up to an Imperator Titan in the 40k universe aesthetics wise.

Never have i been so immersed in a story, so moved by the scenes and dialogue, so pumped during the action scenes. This game constantly gave me shivers, constantly tugged at my hear with senes like Mordin and Thane's death. And the soundtrack..... one of the most moving and powerful soundtracks ever made. Simply amazing. This was more than just a game to many people, it moved them, made them feel every decision, made them shiver with almost every line that was delivered. It was beautiful.
I do think that ME3 did a brilliant job at setting tone (and beyond that, changing the tone when different characters were present even though the plot and the missions stayed the same - I was incredibly impressed with that aspect of it). So if the question was whether it might be one of the best in terms of tone, I'd think it was definitely up there - but since tone is only one part of the whole, probably not.
I also think it's hard to make "best XYZ ever made" choices before a product is more than a couple of years old - there are too many games/films/books/etc. that don't age well to make that kind of judgement that quickly.

Basically those who gave the perfect scores were 'professional' reviewers, most of whom only play a few hours of the game and none of them even covered the ending. Most of these people review dozens of games a week and are not really immersed into the story either. Also many 'professional' reviewers aren't really objective as many of the companies they work for get money from publishers for commercials and stuff so they are 'persuaded' to give a (much) higher grade than a game actually deserves.
Yeh I can appriciate some the pitfalls of professional reviews, tbh I usually shop around for multiple reviews before I'll take the plunge and buy.

I'm not going to bash anybody, I just kept hearing of these 75 perfect reviews, and never came across any of them, that I recall anyway. Still one down, 74 to go lol

I looked around for a bit searching for a thread by Chris Priestly made around the time of release. It listed all 75 perfect scores but I can no longer find it. They probably removed it completely so as to not add more fuel to the inferno that engulfed the BSN in the months after release.

it's linear full of fetch quests has very few quests at all before dlc and thats sad
the plot is broken and is not as well written as mass effect 1 or even 2 for that matter and 2 had it's silly moments but this game takes the cake for bad writing
the lack of a boss fight at the end the fact that we had to make do with kai leng who was lame just some dude with a sword in a game with guns stupid
the ending from hell that even managed to damage mass effect 1 and 2
this is not the best game it's just nice looking and not that fun so no one of the worst bioware has made

Apart from the ending it was a very good game.
Looking back at the trilogy, it's one of the best series I've played.
But for stand-alone I'd still stand firm with UFO:Enemy Unknown and Master of Orion 2 as my favourites but that's a complete different genre.

Best game ever made though... Lol, no.
Endings, fetch quests overload, autodialogue, considerable amount of boring missions, lack of free hub or semi-hub worlds, first day important character DLC, continuation of plot in DLC.
Need for clarification and closure - acknowledge by developers themself.
Best game??? Average plus,max.

It has its good moments but in the end judging everything, its not that great.
The few good moments dont compensate enough to make it a good game.
It's just average.

I wanna see how many people have completed more than 3 playthroughs of this game, and compare it with ME1 and ME2's group of multiple playthroughs.

I can't give you numbers but for me I have completed Mass Effect 3 six times and I am currently on my seventh playthrough. As far as ME1 and ME2 I completed both of those dozens of time. I love the story that much and I believe the trilogy is the best of all time no question!

But one of the best games ever made? Absolutely inconceivable. Like I said, Bioware themselves have made much better games.

Mass Effect 3 was supposed to be the most epic game I ever played but that title go's to Mass Effect 2 for me. The Suicide mission was the most heart pounding experiance I've ever had in a videogame, and the soundtrack was amazing(Jack wall FTW).

Oh yes, I was pretty much a nervous wreck going into it (I was getting really worried about losing characters I'd come attached to), although the Reaper Baby killed the mood somewhat.N7 Spectre525 wrote...

DA3 may be made by different teams, but I still fully expect it to be butchered as well.

This game was great...at teaching me never to pre-order from bioware, if I ever actually purchase another of their games, which doesn't look likely. It also taught me never to use reviews from the paid guys...IGN, etc.

Looking on the bright side, thanks to ME3, I didn't buy Diablo III before reading the fan reviews. I successfully avoided throwing away another $60.
