Was Kaidan really turned into a gay "creeper" in ME3? (In regards to romantic interest in Male Shep)

I've seen people accuse Bioware of ruining the character of Kaidan completely for Male Sheps because of the option for him to be a love interest. I never noticed Kaidan stepping out of the 'bro boundaries' in any of my playthroughs, I didn't talk to him much except for my Renegay Shepdept though. So it's possible I might've missed a lot of the dialogue.

No.

The only time it stepped out of Bro Boudries was the scene with Kaidan in the Crew Quarters after the Jacob-Cerberus Mission. The flirting is apparently non-romance spesific as I was locked in with Miranda at the time.

Outside of that, it never overstepped boundries and that one scene is somthing I've missed for four playthroughs and was probably either forgotten by the Devs or glitched to romance lines. Idk. Kaidan was fine for me.

No. He's never anything less than professional. It isn't an issue.

It can't be as bad as Ashley "skipper" Williams in Mass Effect.

Kaiden's conversation with my male Shep on the Citadel post coup was... er... weird. And afterwards he seemed all angsty.

If you aren't locked into a romance before Kaidan's dinner, then he ask to have a relationship with Shepard. This can come off creepy especailly if you've had a Liara romance from ME1, where Kaidan recognized it. It seen as he should know that Liara and Shepard are together. He's this creepy dude that ignores that and tries to get Shepard to be with him.

Kaidan is not the only one. There are other love interests who hits on you even if you have any prior relationship. I guess it's not creepy since it's a girl. Most of the straight guys have developers cater to them that when there are hints of homosexuality in their game, they start to complain, even though Kaidan's relationship can be avoided as simple as not purchasing the wine for him while he's at the hospital.

I've seen female players say Kaidan is creepy for that dinner date for the same reasons. He doesn't care that Shepard has a relationship with Garrus and expects a relationship with her anyway.

Who are the others that are like Kaidan on their "date"? Do any actually ask for a relationship? For Samantha, you have to offer her a shower. You have to flirt with Ashley at her dinner date. I forget what happens with Liara, but I don't think she's like Kaidan. Diana comes onto to you, but everyone already hates her, and she's excused for being new.

Like I said earlier, the relationship can be very easily avoided by not giving him the wine. Plus, it would save you some money. I don't know why everyone who isn't interested in him would give him the wine then surprise when they're being hit on. I don't think he knows that you're in a relationship. The game doesn't have a jealous sequence like the first game. He's pretty much against cheating, so I doubt he would hit on you on purpose. You need to do several things in order for him to hit on you in the first place. Just don't buy the wine if you don't want a relationship with him. I don't know why it's so hard for people to avoid.

@Battlebloodmage Who knows the "easy way to avoid the romance" when they play the game for the first time? Some people might have just bought the wine for kicks, not knowing what it was for. Then, when they gave it to Kaiden, seemed like a good idea for a buddy in the hospital.

I guess it's unfortunate, but you still can let him down easy afterward. Many characters in the game throw themselves at Shep, so Kaidan is not the only one anyway. There's no point in singling him out.

Yes, yes he was. Still, romance Liara and lock in the romance before you even talk to him and Bro!Kaidan will magically reappear.

You cannot get ninja romanced in this game.

If you get ninja romanced, you are an idiot. I know because I was afraid to talk to steve my first few playthroughs for this reason, but it turns out it's really hard to accidentally trip and land in his bed.

Well, technically you can, but Liara being shoved in your face was so obvious it was more of a sledgehammer & nuke romance.

That’s just because some moron at BioWare thought it was a great idea to friendzone a romance some have had since ME (i.e. for years both in- and out of game) not once but twice. It’s not Kaidan’s fault.

I've never been in an accidental relationship with Kaidan and never had any hints of him flirting as maleshep. (though my canon Shep is a femshep that was loyal to Kaidan throughout all three games) In fact I've never been ninjamanced in any Bioware game. I've always just attributed the people who complain of "ninjamancing" to people just not paying attention to their dialogue choices. I do avoid talking to Liara much in ME1, otherwise she starts to think you like her though, and Diana Allers flirts with you in ME3 automatically after your second interview with her, forcing you to turn her down. Never Kaidan though.

People who complain about Bioware's "ninjamancing" probably shouldn't play Dragon's Dogma then. The game actually requires you have a love interest, as it plays a part in the main storyline, and it will lock in whoever the game registers you have the most "affinity" points with regardless of gender. Many gamers who weren't aware of the affinity system were surprised to end up with the male innkeeper all of a sudden.

There were a few conversations in my two playthroughs were he began flirting, but it wasn't ever anything blatant...mainly stuff that I presume was written in to inform gamers that Kaidan is now bi.

Also, <insert obligatory Minecraft references here>.

I was talking about ME1 where it was quite easy to get ninja'd. (Liara was the exception but her renegade no was bugged so even she could ninja you. It just wasn't intended).
