I was wondering how you get the missle launcher ability to work on destroyer class or is it a total pointless and useless skill as it seems to be?

You have to toggle it on and off constantly to make it fire, so make sure you keep your cool down fairly low.

Just activate the power and leave it on. The missile(s) will fire automatically every few seconds.

You also have to be out of cover or it wont fire.

Best advice is respec and ditch the missiles and take grenades instead as they do actually work.

This.
Grenades are great for killing mooks(or staggering) and spawn points. For bosses use your favourite gun and you´ll be fine.

The missile launcher is controversial with strong opinions on both sides. Best try them out and decide for yourself.

Pick:
Rank 4: Reduce Shield Penalty
Rank 5: Reduce Refire Time
Rank 6: Hydra Missile (3 missiles) <--- A MUST!

It helps to pick +40% shields on Devastator Mode, but it's not a must.

Now activate your missiles, and just go about your business killing stuff and they'll fire on their own.

If you're not facing any enmies they won't fire.

Eh my mileage varies.
I found the multi frags to be almost useless with my Destroyer, so I specced out of them and took up the Hydra missiles.
They've killed many a boss enemy.

since i hate to refill grenades (especially when other grenade user is in the team), i use ML. and honestly i was not impressed by the multi frag grenade at all. it SEEMS to hit hard, but mostly it only staggers. somehow i don't feel it satisfying.

however, ML also not too impressive but at least you only have to switch it on and always target enemies in the center of your view. i like that it makes enemies stagger or roll so they can't shoot you but you can shoot them safely.

i take shield penalty, refire time. i tried both rank 6 evolution. i think both of them are ("are" or "is"? :D) good. cobra hits harder, hydra has 3 missiles. for me it was somewhat harder to utilize hydra, somehow i couldn't control the 3 missiles so i prefer cobra. with cobra i can target one specific enemy so i know that this enemy will roll or be staggered.

I like them both. The missile is tricky to hit unless your in the wide open because it doesnt shoot straight it curves from the right. So if theres a wall or something there it will just hit that but if your out in the open it works well. By and large the destroyer kicks butt plain and simple :)
