Please, don't SEXUALIZE DA3 - I am begging you.

I am a straight dude, but I like to think the characters in a game are somewhat believable. Even in stylized games like DA and Mass Effect.
- The mass effect team made the worst mistake by upping the sex appeal of various female characters with bigger cup size and heavy makeup. It literally makes me feel ill when you compare how gorgeous and natural the characters like ash and liara were in the first game.
Funnily enough, the sex was toned down in ME3 - which begs the question - are the devs seriously aiming for a teen audience or an adult audience? The latter will take you seriously as storytellers, the former will not.
Not only does this (sexualization) push stereotypes and feels cheap (with both male AND female characters), it creates a barrier for customers like me who have zero interest in sexualized characters as it absolutely kills immersion.

Indeed, it's also about treating your audience like an adult and not stupid teenagers.

Changing that will go against...let's say BioWare's vision of new target audience.

So... what exactly are you asking for? I don't want all the women in the game to look ugly.
I didn't say ugly, I said natural. Liara is not ugly in ME1, Ash is not ugly in ME1 - was your femhawke "ugly"? in DA2 in that default armor? Is Leliana ugly in her chantry armor?
No.
No one is asking for ugly, what I am asking for is for non-exploitative beauty within the context of the story. Cleavage and boob shaped armor has zero context other then to exploit the sex appeal of the female form. This simply lowers the bar and gives your audience the impression of shallowness rather then depth or character.

In battle? Not appropriate.
Sex scene? Appropriate.

You assume their audience feels the same way you do. The fact of the matter is, the majority of their audience are teenagers. Now, think about that for a minute and draw some conclusions.StElmo wrote...

Could be, but "teen" is a broad category, you're a "teen" for almost a decade of your life. Maturity is a gradual process, there's no magical dividing line.EpicBoot2daFace wrote...

Also, according to the statistics, 47% of gamers are women, and they might not appreciate the fact that the majority of female characters in games tend to be objectified.

Despite the statistics, they almost always target the male audience. It may be a subconcious thing, but straight males are more likely to look at a game with more interest if sexy women are involved. Hollywood does the same thing.Plaintiff wrote...

If they must use one body to allow for more efficient development then id rather slightly larger breasts than smaller.

Well, I understand why it occurs, but it's something that I think needs to change. The gaming industry and comunity can be so exclusionary, and Bioware is one of the few exceptions. I don't think we really need to worry about them backsliding, but the only way to effect further change is by discussing the issue.EpicBoot2daFace wrote...

I don't think there's anything wrong with characters being sexualized. BioWare knows how to write great characters and if their boobs are showing too much, who cares...well at least I don't.

For those asking "who cares?" my answer would be "Those that are asking for it to not happen."

So Liara wasn't small chested because it was the look they wanted for her, it was because Bioware cuts corners all day long (no offense).
Just to be clear, can you understand why a decision like this was made?
