I always liked the blood spray in DAO and DA2 - I love DA2's aesthetic,
but more blood textures and the addition of dirt, mud and snow decals on
the player would be awesome too.

Imagine fighting through darkspawn with bloodsoaked snow, slushy mud and flecked blood all over your character? It'd be epic.

Keep the DA2 aesthetic though, as I think the morphology, lighting and color is beautiful too!

I found the blood spray to be kind of silly because it looks more like someone was dousing the battlefield with a spray gun than any kind of realistic blood spatter--but then I used to cut up dead people for a living so I'm kind of sensitive to realism as it relates to gore.

Water, snow, mud . . . those'd be cool. I'd also like to be able to swim and jump and fly, but the thing is, I'm not sure how well that'd work with a.) party-based combat and b.) the game engine.

I'd also like to see footprints on soft surfaces, and have animated interactions with interactable objects a la Gothic. (That was so awesome . . . click on a winch, and you actually grab the winch and heave on it.)

The trouble with this simulation stuff is, where do you stop? And how much money do you have for this trivial stuff?

I bet the blood spatter is here to stay though, it's been the one really consistent part of the games thus far.

Good idea.

I would like it more if instead of teeny sparkles of blood here and there (and in...everyone's mouth)
there were large streaks arm your legs, cheeks, arms etc.
The blood splatter in Origins and DA2 was funny. And they made bodies exploding in DA2 quite
comical so I didn't mind that.

But I wouldn't know if that was realistic. The most i've hurt myself is when I hit my toe on the corner of my coffee table. Didn't even draw blood.

But ofcourse the option to turn it off. If you start going in deep with bloodsoaked snow and mud. I might run away.

Just not DA2 style where every cut will result in fountains of blood and organs.

maybe not exploding enemies, but if a torso gets slashed by a claymore, well, expect blood to slush everywhere.

You know what I mean. one little paper cut and waterfalls of blood mixed with gore and body parts...yeah, DA2.

minor complaint IMHO, it suited the artstyle, maybe the decals could have looked better though. I hate when they put shine on blood in games, it looks very unrealistic.

Snow. YES.
Is Orlais cold or hot? I know Antiva is hot...

I got the impression Orlais was temperate, but I could be mistaken. So . . . both?

I'd like to see more snow, even though I get more than enough of it where I live. Return to Ostagar was very nice in that respect; the whole fortress was covered in snow.

I don't know what you mean. With the patch, enemies only explode if you hit them a really potent cross-class combo or if Varric is bulls***ing Cassandra.

There was just as much blood in DAO. You could cut off a guy's head and watch a little geyser of blood erupt from the stump.
