But true enough, had it been gripping enough, I might not feel so bad about this impulse buy. Like the elven orphanage, or Hespith..., oh man, that gave me the creeps big time.
Warden's Keep (worth?)

Again, I bought it, and am happy with it. So are you telling me that I don't know what my money is worth? This really comes to the crux of the whole argument. I didn't expect to get a castle, and has been pointed out, if you do indeed get a castle, and start fortifying it, you become a threat to Loghain, and history gets to repeat itself. As for needing a keep post Landsmeet, you end up with Howe's estate, so why would you need another base?
No one else knows about the base, so how whould it be a threat? As for the estate, that isnt yours is it?
I am not english and i know the meaning of reclaim as the ads sayd, and that is "to bring into or return to a suitable condition for use" The keep is not usable is it? A Base can be many things. From my days in the army fighting the first golf war, our base was the size of my home town, and it held 15000 soldiers, and it was not a big one either.
But you are correct, everyone has their views on what is "worth" what. I am just saying that it is a waste of money when you can get free mods that adds, the same amount of things. Only not the story line, something i did not find to be any spesial.
And i did not tell you anything, i told you why many did buy it, and now i have told you it again.

To be honest tomjhen, you haven't really given a completely balanced description of the DLC to someone who is asking about it's worth. Describing it simply as some pretty items and what's currently in free mods ignores the fact that the quest is fully voice acted and seamlessly integrated into the game. Whether you like that kind of thing or not is irrelevant, you don't get that with free mods and therefore you shouldn't be saying that it is.
Personally I did think the quest was an interesting sidequest that provided some interesting items and spells - Dark Sustenance was actually pretty useful and the Warden Commander Armour is my choice throughout the game. Given the spare change I spent I felt it was worth it. I wouldn't recommend getting it entirely for just the quest, which is admittedly not huge, nor is it worth it just for the gear, the vendors or any other one feature. But as a collection of additions it was, in my opinion, worth a couple of quid.
I wouldn't have spent more than a fiver on it, though.

Good point, for me it was not worth it at all. It has become more of a annoyment for me as i got it when it came out, and the ads sayd "claim your keep" and what not. After that i have found mods that adds all the things you can get in the dlc. The Shale(The Stone Prisoner) DLC is far better, even has a story that ties in with the main story line etc, so that one is to me worth while getting and more so hehe.
To me Wardens Keep is just one of those things they did trow out there to milk the players for more money.
The spells are useful indeed if you are a dagger/sword rogue or a dw warrior. And i like the back side of it that you take extra damage when it is active. The mage one was not that good to be honest, but then again mages are a little over the top powerful for my taste.

Sorry if somebody has already mentioned, but there is a bug with warden keep. It´s reported that sometimes you miss all the armours and the sword that you receive from this place. Once the items has disappear, you can not recover them.
a great pity.
Not quite true - ive experienced the missing items - but ive just loaded the save again and all items were on its place

tomhjen - reclaim also means to regain ownership.

Yes, actually, during the Coronation, whoever you have ruling gives Howe's lands to the Grey Wardens. So yes, in every regard that you could "own" Soldier's Peak, it is yours, or whichever Warden survived, which would have also applied to Soldier's Peak. If you choose to sacrifice yourself, you don't own anything any more. So again, I fail to see how owning 2 fully functional keeps would be of any benefit? With the exception of "I want more".tomhjen wrote...

along with the Blood Magic container ...
and the exp you get, make it worth it for the price. Certaintly you are going to replay it again, also gives some insight on what happended to the past. If you are expecting a four hour long epic journey, like when you have to get the ashes for arl then you will be disspointed however it's fun but short. I say go for it.
