One day it would be nice to see a society where a society does not discriminate you for the smallest of your preferences.

Aside from that, my only real problem with consoles is just the mere difficulty to aim with such a small stick but that might be because of ME3 limited aiming sensitivity; tracking enemies on scope is next to impossible.

I have a potential hardware solution for you. There's actually a 3rd party gamepad/mouse controller for the 360. http://www.splitfish...ragfx-shark-360 You can see some user reviews on NewEgg http://www.newegg.co...N82E16874817001
I've been debating on getting this myself.

I've never actually tried those.. but I have trouble imagine it being very good, at least not for me. I'm very sensitive to input lag, especially with a mouse. It just really messes with my body's feedback control systems. There must be some kind of delay in translating mouse movements to the proper speed*time of the joystick output, and then most HDTVs have significant input lag on top of that, which PC monitors never have.

That is false.

Zhhk did some testing that indicates this.

That price tag has to try to make itself not look like a complete ****ing waste somehow. For around a thousand dollars, in addition to about a couple hundred every two or so years to keep it from going obsolete, you get all these little tiny pros and the ability to play with really pretty graphics.

Worth every penny unless you're a broke delinquent...  consoles and controllers break just as easily, the Xbox 360 with its infamous RROD issues and all.  When you've played at 60 fps with full eye candy, 30 fps (which is the console rate) is an "complete ****ing waste" indeed.

I tried playing at 30 fps-ish on a laptop with low graphics settings, what a terrible terrible terrible experience that was.

Consoles are a kiddies platform - real men and women game on PCs!

Note I have a PS3 myself - that's sat mostly for years collecting dust...  the only real good use I got out of it was for MGS4 which is an exclusive title.  Though that was certainly one game well worth playing.  Glad the new MGS looks to be coming out with PC as the initial development platform that they're showing it off on.

I don't game as much as some others do even, pick my titles so I only pick up a few a year, but its always been worthwhile keeping a gaming PC.  I don't use it for other daily stuffs - moved to Mac a few years back for that.  I keep my builds reasonable though, and with that, it isn't really terribly expensive...  my latest upgrade I do consider a bit of an extravagance even with about $600 out of pocket after selling off some old parts.

That's like the cost of 10 games these days...  people waste a lot more just buying games that aren't very good that they don't play for very long.

I have played ME3 on both PC and xbox and there might be a difference in movement, but I never noticed it.   The graphics are a little better on my output device.  I play both to a 42 inch HD TV.

Maybe its been mentioned already but the big difference I see is that in the PC you can datamine game paramaters so you can understand better how the game works.

They each have their faults and merits. Don't bother comparing them.

I myself like the feel of a controller to a keyboard and mouse. But that means nothing. Just personal preference.

Rebindable keys to a layout that's comfortable to our left hand and [this is a big one] a mouse.

And that's before the metric boat ton of custom controls that we can buy.

I'm pretty sure it's title dependent on the Xbox... Bayonetta, CoD, Devil May Cry, Rage... I'm pretty certain those are 60fps on the xbox... not that I own them to know... I only buy stuff for the xbox that are exclusive titles... everything else I play on the PC... at 120hz Image IPB

Yeah - was talking about ME3...  30 fps vs. 60 fps is like NIGHT and DAY!

But one can have a crap PC that'd be no better or worse than a console running 30 fps.

I personally don't consider any of this as "ranting". In fact, most of the players I play with on a regular basis have heard me rant on several occasions. The Mass Effect series has some of the worst controls of any shooter I've played. And, @OP, if you think you've got it bad, imagine if you were left-handed such as myself!

ME3 is the first I bought in the series, and for the first 3 weeks of playing, I had no idea you could actually change directions while running...I thought it was only in a straight line! With my right thumb pushing forward on the right analog stick *AND* holding the X button (PS3), I was always running in a straight line. Don't remember when I had the "ah, ha!" moment and figured out how to steer, but now I use my left thumb to operate the right analog while my right thumb is on X. As you can probably imagine, I can't dodge very quickly because of the need to keep moving my thumbs to different areas of the controller.

I don't understand why developers have gradually moved away from offering full customization on consoles. I believe UT3 on PS3 offered full customization, and that was on the market almost 5 years ago. I am so terrible with a mouse, and a controller feels much more comfortable to me, which is one reason I prefer games on the PS3.

I actually ordered something called "XCM Swapper" 2 weeks ago, but haven't received it yet. It's supposed to let you remap the buttons on PS3, but it requires you to plug the controller into this device, which then plugs into the console. When I get it, I'm promptly swapping X<->R3 and O<->L3. Hope it works! (fingers crossed)

The control scheme on PC is just easier to set up in ways that don't involve the same hand doing two things at once. What's insane, though, is that even if you intentionally hold the controller VERY awkwardly, you still can't look around while running. I can't remember if it's just stuck, or if you break out of a run when you move much, but it's definitely a thing. We also get slower aiming in general, which is related directly to the controller vs. a mouse, and then we get the horrible mechanic that will make you aim at a swarmer 9/10 times when trying to shoot a Ravager.

There are some myths PC users spread that claim console players get hidden benefits, but the only one is the aim auto-assist, which is more of a hindrance than a help.

Balancing for pc vs console is incredibly difficult, we do our best
(enemies are tougher on pc than on xbox) but pc will always offer more
precise controls, and better sequencing of attacks.

Because we're the master race.

I would've thought that was obvious.

But seriously, there is a reason PCs are better than consoles...

And like others have said, the game is easier for consoles.

i had no idea pc could do that. I just thought BioWare was too incompetent to add in the ability to change camera angles while running.

why am i still playing on consoles..

Who cares which is "better" or "worse" when in fact everyone of us have fun in their own plattaform?

I make jokes about "PC master race" and blablablablablablabla, but of course I know that the game is the same on 3 plattaforms, I don't care which is better of worse, because everyone have fun, and also, there are good, very good players in all plataforms.

Prove of that is the fact that Xbox has the record of the fastest platinum speedrun ( not for too much BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ) and we ( PC ) have 10 fastest solos and the fastest gold run, so, i don't know why is the necesity of compare 3 DIFFERENT plattaforms when the game is the same.

PC may get an advantage with running, but I've seen many more server disconnects on PC than I have Xbox, and that's over the same internet connection. It's really a drag that it happens as often as it does.

I've had an Xbox for 7 years now, cost me £119.99.

A good PC gaming desktop back then would have cost around £800+ - unfortunately for the PC players they will constantly have to upgrade their machine to keep up with games coming out.

You might want to stick to one analogy or the other (metric tonne or boat load).

I don't see why they took away camera controls whilst sprinting for consoles. If need be me and many others can press one of the buttons and operate the camera at the same time.
Sprinting around the map whilst facing in the same general direction is really rather annoying.

You get what you pay for. PC games always have and always will offer superior controls.

I'm used to it, I was kinda upset when i tried it out and found out its not available (i figure because they made it for use with a standard controller and using the A button and right thumbstick and left thumbstick at the same time would be impossible unless you have 3 thumbs lol
